I love canning jars. I use them for everything…organizing craft items, keeping foods in the refrigerator, storing baking supplies in my kitchen cupboard, pincushions and especially for gift giving. I have used canning jar to give gifts of homemade Irish Cream, cookies, fudge, homemade popcorn etc.
The food is the gift, but a cute container is a must!!
I usually cut a piece of fabric and use that to cover the jar, but this is so much faster.

Recycled Christmas Cards…Canning Jar Card
Hi everyone! Thought I would a have a week full of ideas for recycling Christmas cards. We all receive so many beautiful and thoughtful Christmas cards each year, it's a shame to throw them away. I keep them in a large storage container and during the winter months I try to make different crafts with them.
Today's project is a quick and easy one to decorate the tops of canning jar lids. I love using canning jar to give gifts of food during the holidays and throughout the year. The jars come in so many different sizes, it's perfect for food or beverages. I make homemade Irish Cream for gifts and canning jars are the best!!
Here is the decorative top for a gift of homemade caramel popcorn…

Kitchen Cupboard Organization...
We had our kitchen remodeled last month (before and after post with pictures soon) and I did a little organizing when we had to put the kitchen back together.
I wanted to share what I did in one of the cupboards that holds all those little things that might get lost in the shelves. I did have something similar in the past, but the boxes were smaller and I only used a few of them for gravy packets and such.

Canning Jar Organization Idea...Using Magnets
Hi to all...hope you're having a great day!
You know I have a thing for organizing. I've said it to you before, I think my actual hobby is organizing rather than using the things I'm organizing!! LOL
Well, here's another quick one for you.
I've shown you the French Drain post in the past. Click HERE if you'd like to visit again. I used plastic French Drains, cut them up and use them to store things like yarn, paint cans, supplies, etc. One such thing I store in them are canning jars that hold my buttons.
Here's an update on that...
See in the upper middle section of the wall unit? That's my French Drain section.
A little closer view…canning jars to organize!

I Saw A Mouse...And It Wasn't Mickey
We had a mouse in our cupboard. I wanted to ring it's little neck. I had 2 bags of chocolate chips...the store brand and the other was Nestle. Which one do you think he ripped opened and filled his stomach with? Actually, he could be one of my kids going for the name brand food over the generic. I, myself, eat anything. Lol

It took me the whole day last week to clean out the shelves and bleach everything. Now the only thing in the cupboard are cans and canning jars. No bags of any food for him to bite into.
space
I used these caps for canning jars instead of the 2 part lids.

The one piece caps are easier to work with on a daily basis, rather than the disk and ring combo that you would use for canning food.

Aren't they cute?

and these yummy new chocolate chips are safe from the mouse. However, this jar was full before I took this picture, so I don't think it's safe from the 6' 3" mouse that I'm married to!!

Hope you don't have a mouse in your house!! I want to know why he's not outside enjoying the summer. Well, now that I think about it, why not stay inside...it's air conditioned and we serve chocolate!!

Tool Time Tuesday...Canning Jars Projects
Tuesdays..."Where we always thinks outside the box" or the jar in this case. Did you know your local hardware store carries boxes of canning jars. They are actually in a lot of stores this time of year for storing fruits and veggies right from the garden or farm stand. However, no such edibles in these jars!
Canning jars come in so many different shapes and sizes.
