Friends on Fridays...

I haven't done a "Friends on Fridays" post in a long time. Friends on Fridays is where I share a fabulous idea from a blogging friend!

Linda, from the blog Razzle Dazzle Quilter in New Zealand, sent me a reverse Tool Time Tuesday. Some of you know my Tool Time Tuesday posts takes something ordinary and use it for something you wouldn't even think of. Some posts I've done, turn crazy things into something "for" your sewing room.

Well, Linda has taken something "from" the sewing room and used it in the kitchen.

This idea is BRILLIANT!!!

Linda has used "T" pins from her sewing room and used them...

to hold bacon on the Fillet Mignon! Ok, there are 2 "oh my goshes" with this...

1. the pins to hold the bacon on and
2. how delicious does that Fillet Mignon look!! (wish I lived in New Zealand!)

Friends on Friday...Lots of Inspiration

I love when friends share their project pictures with me. Whether it be a picture of a project they've tried from one of my posts or a wonderful project of their own...Friends on Friday is where I like to share them.

If you have a project you'd like to send me, I'll share it on Fridays. Just to make the process a little easier...if you send me a picture to share on my blog, that automatically gives me permission to use the picture on my blog, with a link back to you and your blog of course. The automatic permission just eliminates emailing back and forth for permission. Thanks so much for understanding!

Now onto some great projects and a pattern request at the end.

The first idea comes from Lissa from the blog Northern Nest. Click Here to go to her post. She saves the bags that onions come in and uses them for the best idea EVER...



She makes pot scrubbers with them. I am so mad at myself for throwing all those bags away. Thanks Lissa for sharing this great project. Definitely on my "To Do" list!



Next project is from Cindy at Bumblebee and Sophie. Click Here for the link to this project. Cindy is a girl after my own recycling heart...and Mod Podge too. Love it!

Aren't these the cutest darn containers ever!

Next is Jen's project. Jen's wonderful blog is Chase-ing The Dream and you can click Here to go to this post. Jen used my metal stamping post, but she went one step further and used the washers for the best idea. She put them on her boys' soccer bags to tell them apart and they make great zipper pulls too! Thanks so much Jen for sharing, I love them on the bags!

This project is from CeLynn from The Sunflower Patch blog...click Here for her post. She used my tutorial for the pvc pipe knitting needle holder, but boy are hers cute. She covered them in fabric and used my favorite thing...Mod Podge! These are adorable! Thanks CeLynn.

Now for a pattern request.

These 2 pictures were sent to me from Karla. She doesn't have a blog, so I thought I would post these picture here for her.

These pictures are of her "joy bottle" Easter Bunny Lady. Karla's grandmother made this little cutie for her daughter 34 years ago. Each morning the children could pick an egg out of the bottom of the skirt and have the treat inside!

Karla was wondering if I have ever seen this pattern or knew where to get one.

If anyone has any info on the Bunny pattern, you can either email me directly or leave a comment on this post.

Friends on Friday...Lots of Them Today!

First, I had a lot of giggle comments on my new Thoughts on Thursdays post. Thought I would add a day with just simple thoughts instead of a whole post or tutorials...you know, mix things up!! I guess I mixed things up alright...shaving is out of left field, far from crafting!!

Before I share project pictures, this picture below is from my bestest quilting friend Tina from Seaside Stitches. She is in charge of a yearly quilt retreat and she invited me to join in the fun. This is my first one, so wish me luck. I'm so excited! Aren't these flowers beautiful? She made them for challenge prizes. I'm bringing my camera, so I share all the pictures next week!

This is Carlena's picture. She used the coffee tray idea found here for her husband and all their coffee supplies. The tray makes it so much easier to slide the coffee maker from underneath the counter. I LOVE the round tray! You can visit Carlena if you click here ...great site!

These last few photos are from Gail at The Fairy Gardener Quilts Too. Click here for her wonderful blog. She loves to use recycling ideas too. I used plastic cookie trays to store my hexagons, thread and more...click here for that.

and this one is awesome. I know I could have used these in the past. I've ruined some furniture tops from water leaking out of a plant.

I haven't shared a Friends on Friday post in a long time. I think I am going to bring this back as a regular weekly feature. Remember my jumbo button wall art post I made with the cheese board? Well, just look at the button Sydney made. She went right out to her local Good Will store and found the cheese tray for 50 cents. Look how adorable the button is with 2 holes...too cute and I love the color.

You Had Me At Bonjour

This unbelievable blog belongs to Kirsty. She is an Australian, living in the south of France and is sharing a bit of her beautiful life with us through her blog. This was a plain paper lantern turned into a cutie...I might also mention this was her first time using a glue gun. What??? First time...I bet she hasn't put it down yet. Those little things are priceless!

Friends On Friday...

I haven't done a Friends on Friday post in a while...definitely need to do more. On Fridays, I love to show pictures, projects or events from blogging friends. Today, I have 2 wonderful ladies to share.

The first is my friend Gra...Hi, Gra! Her name is Graciela or Grace and her wonderful blog is Chez Gra. She lives on the coast of Argentina. You have to go visit her blog. There are so many wonderful pictures, quilts and projects, like the one pictured below ( she allowed me to use her pictures). When you visit her blog, just click the translate button on the top right side bar...it works great.

This project is made from old photo albums that she no longer used. Don't we all do this...keep something, knowing we'll do "something" with it "some day". Well, this project is the reason I don't throw anything away.

First, she carefully pulled apart the pages of the album and cut in between each picture pocket so as to not cut through the sealed edges on both sides.

She then used recycled card board and wrapped her fabric samples around it.



Now she has this fabulous way of carrying the samples to the quilt shop to match to other fabrics. Plus you can showcase different fabric to see which ones will look best together for a quilt. The clear plastic holders are great to keep fabrics clean in your purse too.

This is such a wonderful idea and recycling too. Thanks so much Gra for letting me show your idea to everyone. I know we are in the age of digital cameras and we're keeping pictures on disks now, so we all must have these albums tucked away some where. Let's all go and dig them out and start cutting them up!

My second Friend On Friday is Carol Riggs. Carol emailed this week and asked if she could use a couple of my tutorials for demonstrations in her NEW quilt shop. Well, of course I said yes. I always love sharing! and a NEW QUILT SHOP...Woo Hoo!!!

Friends on Friday...

I haven't had a "Friends on Friday" in a while...so I thought I would share a few pictures that my wonderful blogging friends sent me.

These first 2 pictures are from Cathi at Shakerwood Primitives. Looks like she was a Tool Time Girl long before I was. She and her husband used a "T", a flange and a pipe to make this adorable paper towel holder....just too cute!! She has inspired me to make something with a narrow pipe for my spools of ribbon. Thanks Cathi for sending me these pictures.

This next photo is from Tudy at Tudy's Craft Cupboard. She used my tutorial for the dry erase board, but made hers extra special...she covered the frames with fabric. What a great idea to match a room or like she did, matched it for her grandchildren. I love this idea!! Thanks Tudy.

Last, but certainly not the least, is a Tool Time if I ever saw one. Look what Nancy from the Tattered Garden made using a metal tape measure!!! She has a wonderful tutorial on her blog for this snappy bag , so go take a peek. Thanks so much Nancy!

Friends on Friday...

You all know the way I feel about blogging. Along with quilting, it has become a must do in my life. I love to share my ideas and to be inspired by all of you.

I have met 2 wonderful new friends who have inspired me with their work. They used the tutorials from my car caddy and the design wall and have created their own works of art.

These first few pictures are from Vikki from Sew Useful Designs. You must visit her blog...fantastic. She created this cup holder sewing caddy for her friend (one very lucky friend!!) Is this the cutest thing you've ever seen or what? The little "are we there yet" is a needle holder. The floss holder on the key chain...absolutely clever.

She also sewed her a travel journal. Look closely at the fabric. Peace on Earth by 3 Sisters...to die for how it matches the theme. Vikki, you really should start selling these!!! Thanks, so much for letting me post these pictures.

Now onto to Zlaty's fabulous design wall. Zlaty is from Zlaty Sews and her blog is a must see. Pop over and see her tutorial on this wall. Look at how she conquered my fabric nightmare. She sewed four channels for the pipes and look how tight her fabric is...you can probably bounce a quarter off it. Not only do I love the wall, but look what's on it. Zlaty, that is going to be one beautiful quilt. Can't wait to see that finished.

This last picture is how Zlaty cut her pvc pipe. Now is that a Tool Time Tuesday or what. That is one serious cutter and I want one!!! Thanks so much Zlaty for letting me share these pictures, I really appreciate it.
