Thirsty Thursday...Flavored Coffee and Frappes

Hi...Welcome to another Thirsty Thursday. I was in a convenient store where they have the self serve coffee and drink station. I usually get hot coffee, but when the weather is warmer it's iced coffee. Yum!!

My daughter reminded me that they have the flavor station there too. It's a machine that dispenses a drop or two of flavoring in your drink. Lots of flavors too. I thought to myself...I can do this at home with extract!!

One cup of hot coffee and a drop of coconut extract...really, only one drop. Experiment with more after.

Add some cream and it is delicious...

Then I thought about making a mocha frappe...

Just pour your cup of morning coffee that has cooled down a little into a blender. Add a packet of chocolate flavored Carnation Instant Breakfast drink powder and some milk, then blend.

If you want an iced mocha frappe that's thick and yummy, just add ice to the blender!!

Carnation Instant Breakfast packets are full of nutrients and vitamins, so it's like a healthy cup of coffee.

To make it "good" for you, use skim milk and the sugar free Carnation Instant Breakfast packets.

Here is a picture of all the flavored extract I found in the store...tons of them in Walmart and only $2.48 each.

Coffee...hot or cold, flavored or not...it's all good!

I don't want to hurt teas feelings, so I might try the lemon or mint in my tea!

Have a great Thursday,
~Karen~

  6. My addiction of choice right now is a large, easy on the ice, sugar free French vanilla iced coffee at McDonald's for just a dollar. In the winter I dump a packet of sugar free hot chocolate mix in a large mug, fill with hot coffee and a splash of creamer. Yum! I will definitely try an extract in my coffee. By the way, I love Watkin's extracts. The bottles are pretty on the shelf, the right price and there is a huge variety from which to choose!

  8. I am a coffee addict..drink all day until I go to bed. Caffeine is my friend and does not keep me awake. I NEVER thought of using extracts in coffee. I'll check it out and thanks for the tip. I LOVE this place!! ~lol~

  12. I love iced coffee but sure hate to spend what they ask at the 'designer coffee' shops. Thanks for sharing this, I'm thinking I will be doing some experimenting...

  13. I love my coffee and in the heat of summer it has to be iced. Thanks for the flavor tip.

  14. Love this idea! I buy a Dunkin Donuts hazelnut iced coffee every morning, winter and summer, but it's just so expensive! I don't use sugar in my coffee, and the Torani syrups are way too sweet for me. I can't wait to try the extracts!

  17. I adore good coffee and love flavors. I don't like the calories though. Artificial sweeteners raise my blood sugar so I use stevia. I am right now on a chai tea kick. I use rice milk instead of cream.

  18. I'm a tea and hot chocolate drinker, and discovered I could combine the two. Fix peppermint tea and use it as the liquid in fixing hot chocolate mix. You can also use other flavors of tea, but peppermint is my favorite!

  19. I don't have a blender, can I use a hand mixer instead? If not, any suggestions?
