Hi everyone. Remember the old kitchen drawers that I turned into a magazine book holder under my desk? I've mentioned in a few posts that I need to add wheels to the bottom so I can roll the drawers out easily.
Well, here's my quick solution that I found at Ikea this past weekend...Plant stand caddy on wheels!
They come in 2 styles at Ikea, but I know they sell these in any store.
This one is 12 inches across.
Has 4 wheels on each caddy.
Each caddy holds 75 pounds. Ikea does sell a wooden version that holds 88 pounds. This info isn't found in the store, but I read it on the their website.
Here's the item number for this particular caddy. This is $5.99. Much cheaper than buying 4 wheels or casters for each box.
They are used to elevate your heavy plant pot off the ground and makes it easier to move around the room or outside.
I will use them under these drawers.
Just place the caddy under each drawer in the center.
Now I can pull out the drawer on the wheels and get to the back of the box.
If your box is heavy or larger, maybe use 2 stands per box.
These plant stand caddies on wheels are also great for drawers or boxes that you stored under your bed. You can easily pull them out from underneath for easy access.
This was the perfect solution for me. It was cheaper and I didn't have to empty out the drawers and screw the individual casters into the bottom of the drawers.
Hope this will be helpful somewhere in your home too!
Have a great day,
~Karen~
Great idea!! These plant stand are also great for floor lamps! Put your stationary lamp on the wheelie plant stand and now you can wheel your lamp around where ever you need it! :o))
ReplyDeleteYou are a genius! I just love your blog!!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful idea Karen !
ReplyDeleteI place my computer tower on one of these plant stands, under my desk.
It keeps it off the ground and allows me to move the tower for cleaning or easily pull it out if I need to look at something closer.
