Lots of you emailed to see the couch, so here it is along with all the other changes I had to make to squeeze it in.
I know what you're thinking...white!! They're slips cover though and easy to wash. My sister is the queen of slip covers and does a beautiful job. That's one project I haven't tackled and probably never will.
Come on in to see some of the changes and even some painting too!!
I took all new pictures of my sewing room this summer for a new post I've been writing, but this was the...
Before Couch Picture
After Couch...
Before couch where my desk was and an old bench.
The couch is there now and I painted the bench to make a coffee table.
After...
You know painting is my least favorite thing, so it has to be easy for me...no priming, sanding or prepping. Just paint!! If it chips, I just touch up paint it again.
Great place to put your feet up. Needs a plant and some magazines, but the paint was still tacky.
The "before" of the buffet and my ironing board...
Is now the Ikea table to the left of the couch. The coffee table took the Ikea table's place.
This "before" wall now has the buffet underneath it.
Here's the "after".
These boxes had to move here, because the quilt ruler rack took their place.
The ironing board went from the top of the buffet to next to my machine.
The old swing set slide I used for a quilt rack had to move too, but I now use it for a message-"to do" list board.
Here's the slide before...
The spot on this wall is next week's Tool Time, so stay tuned for a paper punch organizing rack!!!
Here's the slide after.
The quilts will go into a storage area of the coffee table I painted.
Just hang the clip boards from the ladder rungs.
Shower curtain rings to the rescue again.
The couch was worth all the moves...I've fallen asleep here each night watching tv.
Have a great day,
~Karen~
What a wonderful sewing studio. I'd be reluctant to give up the couch. Maybe your daughter will forget about it.

Wow - Love it. Am very jealous of your crafting room. But a sofa is a fantastic addition
ReplyDeleteGosh what a great job your sister has done with the slip cover on the couch - I'd be happy for her to visit New Zealand if she would like to make more slip covers! Also enjoying looking at your changes and look forward to seeing your next post on sewing room changes.
ReplyDeleteWow, fancy and elegant. Love the ironing board cover! Did you make it.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you have found a new "second half of life" career !!
ReplyDeleteAre you for hire ?
Just think of all the rooms that could be transformed. ;)
Lots and lots of Studios.
Wonderful job with lots of clever ideas.

Your sister did a great job on the slipcover! I love the couch in your sewing studio too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful space for relaxing and creating! I can see why you would fall asleep while surrounded by your goodies. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLove the changes and the sofa! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteFantastic creative space! Wonderful job!
ReplyDeleteI would give anything for a sewing room like yours. All the moving and organizing was worth it to make room for that lovely sofa.
ReplyDeleteWow! where's the little bits of fabric and stray threads, lol?
ReplyDeletegreat use of your space. I fully understand the rearranging of the workspace to fit more in. I just need a larger space!
ReplyDeleteMy husband will say "You don't room for that." I say, "I can make it fit." Hubby rolls eyes, I roll up my sleeves - guess who makes 'it' work?! Your rearrangement is proof that if we want it bad enough, we can make it work! I love your space BTW...
ReplyDeleteThat sure looks like a perfect place to sit and sew down a binding, you can prop your feet on the coffee table to help hold up the quilt and stitch away while watching TV or listening to a good CD. I still want you to come to Florida and set mine up, I just got another area open to expand to as my brother took the dining room furniture to his new apartment. So I got about 12 x 12 more square feet, oh my thats 144! I need another bookcase!
ReplyDeleteLove seeing all your moving around and craftiness to make it all pretty! Your work is an inspiration!
ReplyDeleteAs always another very inspiring post! I love your resourcefulness and ingenuity!
ReplyDeleteI love the couch. Your sister did a great job on the slipcovers. Maybe she could guest post on how to make them! :D
ReplyDeleteIf my sewing room looked that good, I would never leave it.(LOL) Wonderful space....
ReplyDeleteI am positively chartreuse - way beyond green - with envy of this room. I had to pin it so my daughters can see what I keep raving about :)
ReplyDeleteI love your studio. Want to come organize my space for me???
ReplyDeleteOh Pretty Please, ask your sister to do a tutorial on slipcovers. Oh my, what a great job. I have never, I mean never(!) seen slipcovers fit so well.
ReplyDeleteOh the room looks so inviting....
ReplyDeleteOMG - the whole room just leaves me speechless. I LOVE!
ReplyDeleteLooks great! I've pinned your studio before, and love seeing your updates. :)
