Tool Time Tuesday...No Assembly Crafter's Workbench

Hi everyone and welcome to another Tool Time Tuesday. You know I just love roaming the stores for ideas and find things to transform into something else. Well, today's idea is an easy one.  I just stumbled on it in...where else...Home Depot!

I didn't buy one for myself, because I can't squeeze one more piece of furniture in my craft room. I just wanted to share a "tool time" idea with you.

Again, as I mentioned in another post about the tiered tray organizer...this is our little crafter's secret. If we talk about this they'll raise the price! Lol

Come on in and see how easy and great this workbench will be for you.

Here's a picture of the box. See the 4 little pictures? It's showing "NO ASSEMBLY REQUIRED"

Just unfold the legs and pop in a shelf.

DONE!!

Here are the measurements...

72 inches long x 20 inches deep. I did measure the height for you in the store. It's 35 inches high, which is about the same as my cutting table that I added the finials to. My own cutting table is 36 inches high.

Great for cutting fabrics and working without breaking your back. I know this may be different for everyone, depending on our own height, but it is still a great working height.

This would be perfect painted to match your crafting space. You can have baskets and storage bins underneath or fabric folded on the shelf below.

Hang a pegboard over it to store all your craft tools and rulers etc.

The best part is the price...$69.00

The second best part...NO ASSEMBLY

Ok, I just talked myself into getting one. I need to justify this and find a space in my craft room.

You might have to pay someone to haul it in your house though...looks heavy!!

Have a great Tuesday,
~Karen~

  2. Wow, at that price you could even add a few trim pieces to fancy it up and still stay under $100!

  5. wow! Trying to figure out if I can EVEn fit it in my sewing room....but another idea.....my daughter's legos!!!! I can already see attaching lego plates to the top and storage bins below....INSTEAD of on my floor!!!! And peg board storage with more baskets - or shelves? - to hold special pieces or display completed pieces. OOOO - LOVING this idea!

  6. OR....putting 2 back to back in any craft area as an island....with the raised back, it'll keep different supplies from running over into each other. for example....painting station on one side, paper crafting on the other side. Hmmmm....Think I'll be making a trip next pay day! ONE QUESTION - is this a special purchase (limited supply) or part of the regular stock???

  11. Thanks for the info!! I'm going this weekend to get one. I was waiting to get a table from ikea but it would've cost about $150 - with this one I save money. Thanks!!!

  12. What a great table! I wish I had that instead of the stupid wobbly hobby table I bought at Joann's. Unfortunately, I don't have a place to put another one.

  13. Wow... what a find! I'm actually thinking of getting one for the back of my garage to use outside for spring planting season and use the rest of the year for "messy" craft projects like spray painting or applying grout to mosaic pieces. My back desperately needs counter height surfaces for all things lately!

  15. Oh my goodness! Great price. Seriously great price! This would be perfect in my basement. I sure hope they have some in stock next weekend when my son comes to town. (He has already volunteered to work on my "sonny boy" list while he is in town.) Thanks for posting!!

  16. I am seeing a cheap kitchen island here . I made an island from an old work bench, so that's what came to mind .

  17. This table is awesome..I used to have 2 of these in the old house, I used one as a gardening table for out back and the other one was used in the garage for all of my husband's tools and such, we got rid of them because they were so big and we had no room for them in the new house (garage came with finished work benches and shelves)..too bad I didn't save one to put in my craft room!..I think I need a new BIGGER house..lol
    Love this idea!

  19. What a great find. Thanks so much for sharing.Because the top is like a tray (with lip) you could have a piece of plywood cut the dimensions of the top (or larger)to place right on top, providing a flat surface.I would then cover with batting and canvas for a cover. Use your cutting mat on top to cut fabric. You could still use the space beneath the top for storage of smaller items, fabric, blocks, etc.By padding the top, you would have a pin cusions and space to audition your blocks. What do you think?

  21. HD is not that easy to search for items as you might think---I got a notice from BRADSDEALS on a $50 tool chest and had to do all of my own searching and eventually found it the same DISTANCE away--but in a different neighboring state. So if you want this---keep dialing if the first HD says they don't have it!

There is also a similar but much nicer one from Harbor Freight for a bit more money BUT you can use the 20% coupon AND it goes on sale often--that one has shelves and drawers etc.

I got the tool chest--which has 5 drawers and is 52" tall over all with a "riser" cubby---for my kitchen. I figger--if the guy I am married to--who just so happens to manage a rival big box home improvement store--has not in 23 YEARS managed to FIX the 3 drawers that came in our sad kitchen---well then I get to go to HD and spend MY money on ---drawers! And more storage! Almost twice as many drawers as I would have IF they worked!!!!!! Imagine--getting some of the stuff that lives on the counter OFF there because I now will have---DRAWERS! I may need a cold drink after we get this installed! ALL of our silver ware--for 7 people plus guests--has lived in IKEA totes on the tiny counter for all this time. What ELSE goes in drawers? I may have forgotten!!!!!!!

  22. Wow! I just finished adding all of the furniture to my new craft room and boy is it tight! I don't have an inch to spare....darn. Oh wait! The garage ( and my husband's work shop) is my next project! Let me find the number for Home Depot!

  27. I have a feeling Home Depot isn't going to know what hit them! Great tip and find, thanks!

  28. I went online and found our "local" Home Depot had 4 in stock. Since it's about a 30 minute drive each way, hubby called and asked. Operator transferred him to hardware; said they knew what he wanted and they were out. Best suggestion was to order it online and have it shipped to the house. Went back to the website where it showed they had 4 in stock, wrote down SKU and called again. Asked the operator to check stock with the SKU -- said they had 5 in stock. Transferred this time to lumber department, where, sure enough, they found them. If you call and your local Home Depot says we don't have them, be sure to check with the lumber department and not hardware. Now, to rearrange my 300 square foot sewing room so this fits!

  29. Too bad it isn't 24" deep, to hold a large rotary cutting mat. Otherwise, it seems perfect. Thanks for sharing!

  30. I just bought one yesterday! I won a $50 gift card from Home Depot and so I only had to pay $20 for it!! Mine is going in the garage to give me a space to work on projects!! Thanks for showing this off!

  31. OMG I love Home Depot...and I so wished I could get it shipped to Europe! I like the no assembly part...and let's not even talk about that price!
