Let's take another stroll down memory lane...
My daughter Kelsie and I were watching a repeat episode of Mad Men and someone on the show sang "Hello My Baby..." Come on, sing it out loud in that voice. Hello my baby, hello my honey, hello my ragtime gal...
I told Kelsie that song was on a cartoon I watched when I was little. It was about a singing and dancing frog who only sang for one person. The man attempted to make money on the talented frog, but he only sang for him.
Do you remember that cartoon? If not, Click HERE for the link to the you tube video for a blast from the past.
What was your favorite cartoon when you were little?
Happy Thoughts,
~Karen~
I love Marvin Martian. Always made me laugh (and still does!)
ReplyDelete"I tawt I taw a puddy cat!" I always liked Tweetybird.
ReplyDeletelove that cartoon ;-)
ReplyDeleteMarvin Martian 'where's the kaboom?"
Sylvester & Bugs Bunny 'Duck Season, Wabbit Season'
Tom and Jerry - "Is you is or is you ain't my baby?" Don't know why but that one sticks in my head.
ReplyDeleteLittle Lulu...I probably go back a lot farther than you!
ReplyDeleteThat was one of my favorites! We always watched the pink panther. And now my daughter watches it! What goes around, comes around! LOL
ReplyDeleteWhenever I hear jazz I think about the jazzy version cartoon of the Three Little Pigs (Bops), lol. You can see it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-_ck7AHKKE
ReplyDeleteI do remember the frog too..
YES! I totally remember that cartoon and it was one of my favorites. That and the one where Bugs Bunny does the Barber of Seville with that monster covered in red hair "Let me shave your mop, let me cut your crop" and he's up on the monsters head massaging his scalp with his fingers and toes. It's hilarious.
ReplyDeleteBefore I go look at the video ... I think that character's name is Michigan J. Frog ! Even the name is ridiculous. I remember because I grew up in MI.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what cartoon this was ... where the sheepdog and the wolf say good morning and clock in for the day's work. Then it's a day of battling over the sheep. At quitting time they say Goodnight George, Goodnight Ralph, and clock out. That always struck me as the funniest situation.
I remember that, but I don't know the name of it.

DeleteLOL at Suzan! That Tom and Jerry cartoon was the first thing I thought of! Cracks me up every time!
ReplyDeleteI liked Pink Panther and Scooby Doo. My little guy likes both of these too. Remember Captain Caveman? Oh, and I loved the Flinstones too, and my favorites were the ones with Pebbles and Bam Bam.
ReplyDeleteI loved that one, but was very frustrated by it, too! I loved any of the early 'toons.
ReplyDeleteI remembered that one well....I always felt sorry for the man when the frog would only "ribbit" on the stage!! I always liked Tom and Jerry or Tweety Bird. Of course a lot of the cartoons I liked were actually at the theater between the double feature movie...in the 1950's!
ReplyDeleteIt was only one season but Jonny Quest was my favorite. Did you know the voice of Jonny was provided by Tim Matheson who grew up to be "Otter" in "Animal House"? Among other things .......
ReplyDeleteI remember that cartoon, and it's so funny! I used to watch Deputy Dawg and Quick Draw McGraw after school. I also liked Boris and Natasha and fractured fairy tales. My fave is Foghorn Leghorn the big chicken.
ReplyDeleteOh heavens do I remember that. My father loved Looney Tunes and would specifically come in from the fields to watch them on Saturday. They ran from 11:00 - noon so he would justify it as early lunch.
ReplyDeleteMy earliest recollection of cartoons is Mighty Mouse. I loved Rocky and Bullwinkle, too.
I think my favorite cartoon is "What's Opera Doc?" My daughter and I would sing it when we were baking.
I always liked Rescue Rangers!
ReplyDeleteI loved Little LuLu and Sluggo.
ReplyDeleteI have to add that my favorite comic book was Katy Keane (really shows my age).

ReplyDeleteMichigan J Frog - loved him. Hallmark made him into a Christmas ornament probably 15 years ago... Man, the things and bits from my childhood that you mention on this blog - it's almost like a warm hug of nostalgia every time I stop by. :-)
ReplyDeleteI loved this cartoon! Especially when the frog would sit there so....frog like and ribbit when there was a crowd just waiting for him to sing out loud.
ReplyDeleteI adored anything Bugs Bunny.
Oh wow. I remember all these cartoons. LOL. The dog and the coyote that clock used to crack me un. I liked the dogs laugh. My stepfather sounded just like him sometimes. I think the dogs name was Shep. Great memories.
