Thoughts on Thursday...

I had a nasty cold a couple of weeks ago...no big deal, just lasted a few days. My head felt like it weighed 50 pounds all by itself! Lol !!

My thought for today...why do they make the cold medicine packets so darn hard to get into when you feel your absolute worst? They're like Fort Knox.

Seriously...that little plastic tab on the corner breaks off, you can't pierce the foil with your nail so you end up taking a pointy knife to it, which can be another whole story all on it's own.

Am I the only one?

Hope you have a happy Thursday,
~Karen~

  3. This is one of those times where you hand the child-proofed item to your child for help with opening...

  4. Very timely post. I've been lamenting about this same issue the last few days!

  9. Ugh! You are totally right! I have the same issue with band-aids. Here you are bleeding and maybe don't have use of all your fingers and you can't get the thing open!

    Glad you are feeling better!

  10. I'm with you, those pill packaging things are ridiculous - I usually take the scissors and try to cut as close to the pill without damaging it - who needs that drama when they're sick, right?!?! Let's start a petition :)

  11. You think it's a challenge NOW, wait until arthritis settles in your fingers.

  12. And sometimes the printing is so small on the label that I can barely even see it with my glasses and a magnifying glass!! There ought to be a law!! I hope you feel 100% soon!!

  13. Can you imagine the seniors with arthritis trying to take those things?? No madam. I cannot. It frustrates me each time. I always end up taking Nyquil because they don't have those dang foil packs.

  14. Everything seems to be so difficult to access these days. When was the last time you opened something that was in that plastic stuff without cutting yourself? lol

Glad you are feeling better. Those head colds are nasty.

  17. I remember having a stomach bug and not being able to get the lid of the Pepto bottle. Torture!

  18. LMAO! I know exactly what you mean. I don't know what it was about this post, but I couldn't stop laughing! Love your sense of humor :) Feel better soon!

  19. You have every right to hate those little packets! I just get out the scissors and cut it now. Makes it a lot easier and less frustrating.

  20. I agree with Diane, I just use sissors automatically. I also have problems with child proof pill bottles so I automatically pour my new pills in the old bottles that I can work easily. I think with no children at home I should be able to get things in "adults only" packaging.

  21. I've found that ongoing intake of zinc picolinate (and P-5-P) has led to almost no colds or sinus infections--therefore, no need to mess with those hard to open packets.
Hope these help everyone who learns about them.
