Happy Tuesday! I know...Christmas? It's not even Halloween yet. However, this is a quick and easy project and you're recycling too!
Today's project is this mini wreath.
Remember this candle recycling project? Click here to read all about it. That post is about using the glass tops from jar candles. Lots of great ideas!
To use the glass tops, you have to remove the plastic ring. Easy, but you are left with...
All these rings. What to do with them...make a Christmas wreath, of course!
If you don't have plastic rings, you can also use old canning jar rings.
If you've been reading Sew Many Ways for a while, you know I save a lot of crap (hence the plastic rings). Here's where I keep it all. Boxes and boxes of stuff I save...just in case.
Here's one of those boxes. I cut up an old, artificial evergreen garland that had seen better days.
Lots of little branches waiting for a project. Each branch is about 8 inches long.
Loop it through the ring...
and twist to secure. That's it!
Keep adding until the ring is full.
Add as many branches as you'd like.
You might have to trim the inside evergreen to show the shape a little more.
Add a pretty bow!
Perfect to hang any where.
Or add a glass votive and candle to the center.
This would be so pretty with several down the center of the table.
or because they are so small...add one to each place setting.
Cute, cute!
You can also use fabric strips or ribbon and tie that onto the rings.
Have a great Tuesday and remember...always look twice at something before you through it out!

What a darling project! I love the candle idea as well as the adorable wreath in the little holder. Great idea for reusing things we have already. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWell, my goodness, I am continually amazed with your creativity. This is an awesome way to make tiny wreaths for so many
ReplyDeletedifferent uses. I love it. I will have to do a "Blog This" on your post.
Fantastic!
Warm Regards,
Susan

What a great idea!! I don't know if there is this candle in Poland, but I'm sure that I find a way to make something like that :))
ReplyDeleteThis is fantastic - love the wreath with the candle in the centre! Having seen your Christmas posts last year I can't believe you have room for any more Christmas decorations at your place! ;))
ReplyDeleteGreat idea....now I'll start saving all those candle caps! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI love tool time Tuesday. You are so creative! Love your black book case holding all of your craft supplies. Would love to have that as well.
ReplyDeleteVery cute and I, too, love that case where you store your "stuff" and manage to make the storage area fit right in with your decor! THAT takes talent, my dear!!! (I won't even tell you how any of MY stored crap looks!!!)
ReplyDeleteI am so amazed at your organization....if you were to see my room, your poor heart would fail you. Clever idea....as always!!
ReplyDeleteI have an old artificial tree in the attic I haven't used in years that I just can't throw out. The gears are grinding again! Thanks.......
ReplyDeleteThat's a GREAT idea! Love it as always, but this was particularly brilliant.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute idea! Love the concept of re-using those candle lids as well.
ReplyDeleteKaren only you with your amazing imagination would think of that.
ReplyDeleteI made a wreath out of all of my
mom's old jar rings. I strung all of them on a wire. I would have never thought to put greenery on a single ring. Good job!!!
those are wonderful... i think i threw away some old garland last year... but if it is still in the christmas box(es) when i get them out, guess what i am making! thanks for the great idea. love your storage as well!!
ReplyDeleteI loved that idea - I pinned the picture of the place setting with the lit candle because it looked so pretty! :)
ReplyDeleteanother fabulous idea! The artificial Christmas tree we've been using for about 27 years now is looking a little thin. Every year we say it's time to get a new tree, but we just can't find one as nice. Plus it would just break my heart to dump this wonderful old tree in the trash. This is a great way to re-use the old branches!

I don't know how you do it!! Man I wish my brain worked like that. I think your blog is my all time favorite. I love your ideas!!
ReplyDeleteAgreed! :)
DeleteThis is fabulous! I have been saving all those crunched up and snarled garlands for something....and this is it!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm thinking since they are fairly small.....maybe stringing several on fancy cording/rope and hang below the mantel. Of course, you just took your mantel down..... but you could string several in a line and hang in that 'empty' corner of the fireplace.
I need to make these right now! Thanks a bunch!
Karen. I just love this idea. You are so talented!!!
ReplyDeleteSo very clever - and practically free! Thanks for another great idea.

You are probably the most creative reinventor of "stuff" that I have ever seen. Your creations are all so pretty and so smart. I guess that's why I am a follower of your blog. Love it!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! I love this project! Thanks you for sharing! I have some garland that has also seen better days. I think I will make one of these for my desk at work this year.
ReplyDeleteYes these are cute! What a great idea!
ReplyDeleteThis is great! I love that you came up with some thing to do with those rings!!I will be doing this project!
ReplyDeleteVery very pretty! And very resourceful! Your collection is so neatly organized! wow!
ReplyDeleteLove the recycling here! Don't you wish more people thought this way? Very creative!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!! And oh so clever
ReplyDeleteOn this kind of economy, it's really inspiring to see and complete projects which won't require us to spend so much. Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome idea! I love it! I'm always saving "stuff" to use in other projects - I'm glad I'm not the only one! Thanks!

You gotta know we crafters think Christmas all year long! What a great idea these little wreaths are!
ReplyDeleteSimple easy and so creative. Love it.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, I am glad you keep 'useless' stuff too! Love the mini wreaths down the tab;e as centre pieces idea!
ReplyDeleteI've been stopping by occasionally for a few months now, I like the little wreaths. They have so many uses. What I really love is your storage setup for your stash - so neat, organized and pretty. Thanks for showing it.
ReplyDeleteOkay, great idea, but how do you expect us without a fake branches to do this project? I wanted to use the real Christmas tree branches left over from our tree this year..and since it doesn't have wire through the branches, and I can't twist them to stay, what would be the alternative?
ReplyDeleteKaren you are always full of great ideas!..I love love this!.. I also love the fact that the stuff you collect to use is so neatly Organized!!..Can't wait to make a few of these! I put it on my blog with a link back to you!
