Prayers for everyone along the east coast the next few days. Irene is fast approaching. We live along the coast of southern Rhode Island, about 6 miles from the beach. This is a nasty one.
I hope to do a few posts today and tomorrow to go up this weekend and next week, but I know we'll lose power on this one.
As they have been saying on the news..."prepare for the worst, but hope for the best"
Say a little prayer for everyone,
~Karen~
Went for a walk on the beach this morning with my husband...calm before the storm.
I so love the beach. Be safe, we will gete some of it but not as bad as you....
ReplyDeletePrayers for you all. He rides the winds our Lord does. I lived threw many when I was a young girl in Florida, and I always held on to that truth. It helped me to hold on. God's eternal peace to you and yours.

Glad you are preparing for the storm and to be safe from it. Like Barb, I LOVE the beach too. How delightful you are where you can take beach walks whenever you desire. No matter where we live there is something we have to deal with, weatherwise, at some point. Pryaing Irene loses her steam and heads away from land.
ReplyDeletePrayers for you and your family to be safe.
ReplyDeleteTake care, prayers for you, stay safe!
ReplyDeleteStay safe and let it blow. The rain is not the worse part of a hurricane but the reversing winds are. Just think of the treasures that will be on the beach after the storm. Oh and remember the second half is worse than the first.
ReplyDeleteI made the change. Please let me know if it is set right now. Thank you for the help.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck Karen! We'll be praying for you guys up North back here in 107 degree Texas! Jenn
ReplyDeleteGood luck. Prayers and fingers crossed too.
ReplyDeleteOh, please stay safe. Do you need to evacuate? Prayers for all folks out east. I know how it is as we have family in Louisiana and near the gulf. Hope you won't be without power long, if at all.
ReplyDeleteStay safe!! We are getting the storm tonight into tomorrow!! Hope I don't lose power! ughhhhhhh
ReplyDeletePraying a hedge of protection for you and so many others. Hope it's nothing more than a rainy day...

We are in NC and have gotten a bit of rain in the last hr. Waiting to see what is going to happen. Praying diligently throughout the day.
ReplyDeleteBe safe!
Be safe! I've lived through hurricanes of my youth in RI (Newport) and many in Florida
ReplyDelete(W.Palm Beach) in later years. Be prepared to lose power for 2-7 days or more! Let us know how things went in your neck of the woods.
Of course our prayers are with you and everyone there. Be safe, turn everything off, use surge protectors, wear a pithe helmet. I have no idea, we don't get hurricanes here so just do what you're supposed to do and let us know you're ok as soon as you can.
ReplyDeleteWe're preparing here in Philadelphia too! Stay safe!
ReplyDeleteWow Karen! I had no idea you were in RI, nor so close to the beach. You will no doubt be pounded. I have been praying for others in Irene's path, and you will be too. May God bless and keep you safe. Linda, who's glad to be in Iowa right now!
ReplyDeleteWe are about 15 miles from the beach...seems hard to believe on this cloudless beautiful summer day...
ReplyDeletePraying for safety and not much damage!
Stay safe.
Cindy
Good luck...hopefully she will take a hard turn to the east!
ReplyDeleteIn stitches,

Naughty Girl.....
I do love all your nifty ideas!
Stay safe. Keep us posted as you can.
ReplyDeleteHaving evacuated from 5 hurricains in FL (along with 3-4 weeks with no electricity) I do understand the preparations you are going through. Prayers will be going up for you from AL.
ReplyDeleteWill be praying for you!!! We've been through several here in South MS. so we know what you're going through. So will be in prayer for you all.
ReplyDeleteThinking about you and saying prayers. I have been following the storm tracker all day.
ReplyDeleteIt's strange for us in Florida to be watching everyone on the east coast go through this. Our thoughts are with everyone in Irene's path. Keep safe.
ReplyDeletebe safe and let us know how you fared as soon as you can, have alot of new friends im going to be worried about during Irene!
ReplyDeleteStay safe.I am hoping your area doesn't get to much of the storm.
ReplyDeleteThe area in Virginia where I live had an earthquake last week. Really unusual.
I grew up in Newport - no matter where I live THAT will always be home!
ReplyDeleteStay safe, Karen.
ReplyDeleteI've been watching the news reports regarding Irene. Even though I live on the west coast, I have a niece living in New Jersey who I am concerned for. So far, Irene seems to be weakening some and perhaps, by the time it reaches you, it will have lost most of it strength and turned out to sea. Stay safe.
ReplyDeleteWest Coast sends our prayers to all of you East Coasters. Stay safe.
ReplyDeleteWe are all thinking about all of you on the east coast. Good luck and stay safe!
ReplyDeleteYou are in my prayers! We'll be waiting to hear from you.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Annette
Prayers for you and your family, stay safe Karen, those storms are something else.

I left my home in Florida as Irene was approaching. Now that I am visiting my Mom in MA, Irene is coming to town.......praying for all to be well and when all else fails, toast with wine!
ReplyDeletePraying for you and your family!
ReplyDeleteLiving on the TX Gulf Coast and having experienced hurricanes, I can identify with how scary this is.
Praying!<3>
ReplyDeletePraying for everyone's safety and we understand if we don't see your regular blog, just let us know you are well.
ReplyDeletePrayer goes out to you and your family that you will be safe through this storm. May God be with you.
ReplyDeleteThinking of you and praying for you and your family Karen. Esp that Irene loses strength dramatically before she does damage. xo
ReplyDeleteThinking of you all and hoping and praying that you will all be safe..
ReplyDeleteWe live at a beach about 45 miles from where the eye of Cyclone Yasi crossed the coast in Queensland, Australia a few months ago. We had to evacuate because of the threat of a storm surge, but we were very fortunate that our beach was not flooded. The only damage to our house was to the TV antenna and our gates were blown off their hinges. Quite amazing considering the strength of the winds (about 160 miles (250 km)per hour. We lost power for 6 days, water for 3 days and phone for almost a week. Take all the necessary precautions and I am sure you and your loved ones will be safe. Praying for you all.
ReplyDeleteMy prayers go out to you and everyone in harms way!
