You can't tell by this picture, but the top of the icicle is about 5 inches in diameter.
and look how long it is!!! 48 inches and growing. My husband broke them all off the gutter before the whole thing collapsed.

Oh my goodness... those are some HUGE icicles! I don't envy you all the "fun with snow/ice" you're having...

ReplyDeleteWell you're better than me because I am complaining. It's my first New England winter so I think it's allowed. ;) I looked today and we have a couple of icicles that go all the way to the ground. So crazy! I seriously wanted to cry when my husband told me that there's another big one coming in a couple of days.

I saw some on a barn, that were hanging to the ground, must have been at least 3 feet long. I would hate to be under those, when they fall.

Oh my! Two of my daughters live in NE and are buried under the snow. They don't mind it, though, and it is beautiful! Those icicles look dangerous! I wish we would get another good snow here in E TN.
ReplyDeleteI guess you don't want to hear that it was nearly 70 degrees here today. I know someone in NJ whose gutter came down because of a HUGE icicle. Beautiful though they are, I'm not missing the ice! :-)

ReplyDeleteI am waiting for my stuff to come in from Samoa...was suppose to have been here Thursday....it snowed..now Tuesday and it is suppose to snow...pooey!
ReplyDeleteWow! That is one very large icicle! We've been on vacation and are currently headed toward home. We are trying to outrut the next snowstorm which is calling for 4 inches Monday and an additional 12 on Tuesday. I've decided if I'm going to get snowed in I may as well be at home so I can sew!
ReplyDeleteThat is exactly why we left Massachusetts and moved to southern Tennessee! I miss alot of things about New England, but the weather isn't one of them. Great pictures. Stay safe.

ReplyDeleteI live in New England as well, my icicles aren't quite as long, b/c my son keeps breaking them, I did tell him there was one he couldn't break, we are trying to connect the gutter to the ground, and see how long it takes LOL

I live in California, and I won't share with you the weather we are having here. Those icicles are really something else! Since I don't live in the snow, I find them quite fascinating. It must really be cold!!!

sis and I had when we owned Volkswagens. When
we would shop for fabric we would have the back
seat covered and the kids sat on all of it. We
love our fabric...o.k. and kids. That is a wonderful idea you have about the swap meet. It
