The best place I have found to add that touch is…the refrigerator! We open the refrigerator every day and the project I'm sharing today serves a purpose too.
Heart Magnets…
Easy and made with things from the dollar store.
You can make any holiday decoration into refrigerator magnets, so each month will be something new!
These picks are from the Dollar Tree and the whole bag was…well, $1.00!
You can really use any item for magnets as long as they aren't too heavy.
Magnet dots from any craft store work great.
You can snip the sticks off or just pull them out. Add a little hot to the magnet and press to the back of the heart.
Take just 2 seconds.
These magnets are great for pictures, notes, lists, receipts etc…
Little splash of the holiday is perfect.
My heart holds up the grocery list.
I bought this pad of lists at one of the big book stores. You just check off what you need each week at the grocery store.
It's perfect on the refrigerator, because everyone can add to the list all week long.
Sets of the magnets will also make great gifts. You or your children can give little set of magnets to
- teachers
- classmates
- grandparents
- family and friends
Hope you can make these too!

Karen, Cute idea! I am picturing snowflakes for January, 4-leaf clovers for March, umbrellas for April, flowers for May, graduation caps for June (especially appropriate if there is a grad in the house), flags or fireworks for July, etc. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI have been doing this for years using pushpins and buttons. A lady I worked with in an office showed me hers. She also liked to sew, so she had lots of cute buttons lying around. I never thought to use magnets. What a great idea! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteJust to give everyone a great idea, sewing buttons would work wonderful for this too. Hmmmm.......now off to see if a spool of thread, bobbins, or any other sewing room supplies would work. These things would look great in my studio. Have a great day and thanks again Karen for making us think outside the box! Your creativity is amazing!
I wish that I could borrow five minutes of how your mind works. You must be a blast to shop with as everything you see can be imagined to be reused for something other than it was intended for. Great little idea and not "too Valentine" for the house.
ReplyDeleteCute idea, Karen. It may be time for me to find that package of magnets that I've never used!
ReplyDeleteI have the same check off list pad on my frig! It is SO handy, and perfect for when my husband uses the last of something, he can mark it on the list and I know to get more when I'm at the store! And those magnets are adorable :)
ReplyDeleteThose are cute! And I'm with you when it comes to Valentine's, just a touch here or there is perfect.
ReplyDeleteAwww....so cute!
