Happy Birthday!!!
Even though it's the big "Five O", he just wanted a quiet dinner at home and his favorite chocolate cake. I wanted to decorate a little and because his birthday is on Super Bowl Sunday, why not tie it into his birthday party.
Football field tablecloth…with only a "50" yard line!!
Come on in and see how easy this is to make!!
I know today is the Super Bowl and it's too late to do this today, but you can pin this for next year or use it for a football themed birthday any time of year. I just wanted to share the idea with you.
I already had the green tablecloth. It was one from my mom's collections of colored tablecloths that she made from yards of polyester fabric. You can also use a green plastic or paper tablecloth from the party store. They do sell football field style tablecloths, but I didn't want all the numbers on it. I just wanted to put my own "50" yard line for his 50th birthday.
To make the yard line markers, I used something we already had in the house…Cloth medical tape!
Easy to apply and removes cleanly from the fabric.
I used stencils to make the "50" from white card stock. We've used these stencils a lot over the years for so many projects, as you can see by all the paint, glue and glitter.
Just trace the numbers, cut them out and use tape to stick them down.
Quick and easy decoration for very little money.
Happy Birthday!! Love you to pieces…
~Karen~

ReplyDeletePlease tell your husband to have a Happy Birthday/Ground Hog/Super Bowl Sunday!!! Today is my 49th birthday or as I like to say it's the 20th anniversary of my 29th birthday. I'm not sure if it sounds any better. Hope he enjoys his 50th! ;-> Toni Anne

ReplyDeleteGreat idea, but where is the Chocolate cake, lol.
ReplyDeleteMy sis turned 50 on 1/27 and she was pretty much the same way: at first she didn't want to do anything, then my brother in law convinced her to have ice cream and cake...of course, they got my fav (chocolate anything) :-). Chocolate cake, mint chip ice cream and more chocolate. :-). Congrats to your hubby. :-)
