Organizing Ideas For Suction Cup Soap Dish...

Hi everyone! I was roaming the grocery store aisles while shopping and spotted this soap dish in the cleaning section. I knew exactly where it was going to go…and it didn't involve soap!

Here's the soap dish…

I'm sure you can find something like this in your area. It's used to hold a bar of soap, suctioned to your shower or sink. The holes in the plastic allows the water to drip through so the soap doesn't get goopy.

Two suction cups to attached to metal, glass and some plastics.

Come inside for a few ideas for this great little item…

It's a great size…wide enough for so many things.

This is the original purpose.

It's a great soap dish. Which, at the time this post will be published, was kidnapped by my daughter, Kelsie, for her dorm shower.

Here are some of the ideas that I will use the new one I have to buy now!!

Suctioned on the side of my sewing machine.

Perfect for all those little things that get lost on your sewing table.

Seam rippers, machine tools and what nots…

The ever popular and necessary readers that I keep everywhere so I can see!

It will also hold the stitch chart for my machine. There is a holder on the top of the machine for it, but I don't care for it up there. This is still handy, but out of the way.

This is also great for my remote control for the portable heater in my sewing room.

I have so many ideas for this little gadget, I may have to buy more than one!

How about on your desk top computer.

Handy dandy holder for note paper and pencil.

Quick grab for notes, phone messages, user names that we keep forgetting for every website we join etc.

It would also work on the back of your computer to hold your owner's manual.

I thought this would work great suctioned to my refrigerator to hold notepaper for grocery lists, but it wouldn't stick.

I have a white refrigerator that has that textured surface to prevent fingerprints. Well, that textured surface prevents suction cups from working. Maybe I can hot glue magnets on the back instead of the suction cups.

For less than $2.00 in a grocery store and I'm sure cheaper in the dollar type stores, these will work great in any room in your house. Hope you like it too!

If you have any other suggestions for this, please share it in the comments section!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day,
~Karen~

  7. Hi, Karen, I'm having some difficulty editing my comment on the iPad... But here goes again. I love the notepad holder on the computer; I always need a piece of paper ot something down. It made me laugh, though. We are trying so hard to use our computers and smart phones to usher in a paperless future, but we still need pencils and stickies, even attached right to our computers!

  8. I love your ideas. Things with suction cups never seem to stick for me though. :-( Over the summer I fell in love with a couple of shower items from Command (love the regular Command hooks too) because I don't need to worry about that.

  9. What great ideas! I've had a couple of these and use them to hold sponges. One on the side of a bathroom sink that always seems to have water left on it and the other in the shower.

  10. I bought some large ones like this, fully enclosed (from the dollar store!) meant to hold stuff like bottles of shampoo in the shower. I do use one for that, but I also have one in the kitchen over my sink for all those little pieces of garbage that I don't want to take to the next room (our big garbage is in the next room), and I have one beside the toilet that holds magazines perfectly! I love looking at something, and then thinking outside the box!

  11. Another great idea from you Karen.
I think this would be great to hold your scissors.
Just put them through the holes in the bottom.
Thanks for sharing this great item.

  12. some different ideas. I like the one for the back of appliances for holding instruction books or warranties. I have one inside of kitchen cabinets to hold kool-aid and chia packets. I never think to share stuff like this. I love the way your mind goes and goes.

  15. I have a similar one (magnetic, not suction cups, but same in principle) that I have stuck to my 'fridge, to hold my smartphone away from counters, sinks (water) and possible accidents. I like this "soap dish" on the side of the sewing machine, though - that's brilliant! :)

  16. Oh, you could use it on your bedroom mirror to hold accessories for the next day or your glasses every night. There's no searching for them in the morning.

  23. Well, this requires a trip to the store. I definitely need a couple for the sewing machine & the CPU to hold my readers! Always losing them. Inspiring - thanks!

  24. The simplicity of your ideas always blows my mind. I was just looking at one of those the other day and wondering what I could use it for. I guess I have to have a need before I can figure out how to improvise something for a different use.

  25. I have this and use it to hold a sponge on the inside of my kitchen sink. They also make one with closed sides that I keep it in the shower for soap and razor. This one would probably be better for pads and pencil so they would not slip out.

  28. I shall be pondering my uses for it. It would be handy for holding small scissors and seam ripper near sewing machine. This is a suggestion, perhaps you could ask you readers to post pictures of their uses.

    Thanks Karen!

  30. We just bought a much fancier one ( $3.99 LOL ) so my daughter can suction cup her camera to her mirror while filming youtube videos. Everyone laughed at my idea for this. High five for thinking outside of the box!! LOL
