I know...Hot Dog???
I found this hot dog rack for cooking on the barbecue grill. It holds a number of dogs in one place for ease of cooking. The hot dogs won't fall through the grate, easy to turn and easy to lift the whole rack off the grill at once.
I found this one in Benny's, but I'm sure you can find it in the summer/outdoor sections of most stores. It's made from aluminum and you get 2 in a package for 99 cents, but mine was on sale for 75 cents!!
Come on in and see why I won't be cooking hot dogs on this rack!
Hot dogs...NO
Bobbins...YES!!!
The package comes with 2 racks, so one for you and a friend or two for you if you have a lot of bobbins.
See the curves in the rack for each hot dog?
Perfect shape for bobbins.
They nestle right in there and won't roll around at all!!
You can place the rack on your sewing table next to your machine.
The rack is 5 1/2 inches by 10 1/2 inches and will fit in a box, case or a drawer.
Each row holds 11 bobbins and there are 7 rows, so that's 77 bobbins. I don't have 77 bobbins, but I can dream!!
So instead of cooking up some hot dogs...we need to get something cooking in the sewing room.
Happy Sewing!!
Hope you have a great Tuesday,
~Karen~

Great idea!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely awesome idea sweetie, hugs xNx
ReplyDeletegreat idea! never seen these in australia though. could you somehow attach the other rack so it sits on top and makes it portable? hinge on one side (cable ties?) and something on the other side to hold it down? or maybe a couple of ribbons tied right around?? I always have to carry my bobbins around and they are such a pain!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea!
ReplyDeleteThe package says Oscar Ware, I wonder if that's for using Oscar Meyer hot dogs? Lol.
ReplyDeleteI'll bet you could also put your spools of thread in the racks too. Even if the thread spools are wider they could sit up a bit? It is a great idea for bobbins. Since I have 3 sewing machines, all different bobbins, I might be able to fill those up,lol!
Karen you have so many great ideas, but I wonder how many you actually use for yourself, since you have had bobbin storage ideas and you can't use all your ideas, can you?
Another great idea!
ReplyDeleteI sooo want one. I don't know if we can get them here in the UK. It's a wonderful idea.

Gee--who woulda thought!
ReplyDeleteLove your ideas and presentations!
ReplyDeleteA question always pops up for me when I see individual bobbins arranged in any manner. I have to keep my bobbins with their corresponding spools of thread.
Do you have any ideas as to how to store this combination?
Hot bobbins!! What a terrific idea! Thanks! :)
ReplyDeleteI just love your creativity!! It stirs my imagination too and makes shopping a very different experience.
ReplyDeleteYou have great vision for using items for other purposes in which the item is marketed for. I look forward to reading about your ideas each week. I love the bobbin rack.
ReplyDeleteI just love the way you think outside the box...I mean rack.
ReplyDeleteWhat a steal and what a great idea! Very clever!
ReplyDeleteI'm always awed by the ideas you have for the uses of things besides what they were made for. Wonderful idea.
ReplyDeleteGenius! Perfect idea for all those annoying rolly things on a scrap table.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if you could magnetize it so if it gets bumped, the bobbins would not go everywhere.
ReplyDeleteOrrrr; you could use one for one type of bobbin and another for another type/size bobbins. Since I have two machines (and plenty of people out there have more than that) I like to keep the bobbins separate!
ReplyDeletecan't seem to locate this rack! Can you get a couple more and I will pay you for shipping too?? giftofgabsave@hotmail.com
