Here's a easy way to label the plugs for a quick grab of the correct cord...
Click through to see how fast and easy...
I used a paper punch and label maker, but you can just print the words you need on cards stock and cut out the shapes you want.
The next step (no mater what shape you have) is to make 2 small holes about 1/4 inch in from the edge.
I used an 1/8th inch hole punch because the iPhone wires are tiny, but you can just use the tip of something sharp. If your cords are larger, adjust holes accordingly.
Then take scissors and snip from the edge into the 2 small holes.
Like this...
I made labels with a label maker, but like I mentioned before, you can print them on your computer then cut out the shapes or just hand write the tags.
Open up the snipped area and slip it over until wire is in the hole you made.
The snipped part will be behind the wire now. That's it...it's on!!
It's a quick glance to see which cord you need.
I bought this charging station at a thrift store...cheap, cheap!
With 5 adults in the house, we have a lot of gadgets.
Perfect platform to hold your phones. It's on an end table between 2 couches, so you can charge while you are working too.
The lid lifts up to show the compartment made for the surge bar.
More labels on the plug if the cord is separated when removed for traveling.
You can make your little tags from any card stock or scrapbook paper to match your decor. They can be any size too...have fun with it!!
You don't have to have a store bought charging station either. A basket or pretty box will work great...just put holes in them for the cords to come out and it will keep them neat and tidy too!!
If you can organize little areas in your life, it's one less thing to stress over.
Have a great day,
~Karen~
Brilliant. When I was looking for bedroom furniture I found many of the bedside tables have charging stations. Of course we didn't buy one, hubby is cheap cheap cheap!!!
ReplyDeleteI do like this idea - for any cords you have just laying around..... it`s so easy to forget what they are for and why you have them. Attractive and easy to navigate. Good idea!
ReplyDeleteLove this idea - I have not seen any charging stations yet in my little town, but maybe soon? You cannot be too organised

ReplyDeletegreat idea. life used to be simpler. now we are so connected.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea!
ReplyDeleteSo smart and simple!
ReplyDeleteCute way to dress up those loose cords. One trick we do for phone chargers is to paint the top side with nail polish so we know which way to turn it to plug it up. Good for those of us whose eye sight isn't what it used to be.
ReplyDeleteI love this idea! Perfect for me and I keep losing the cords. Thank you for sharing it.
ReplyDeleteWell done idea :D
