Thoughts on Thursday...

Don't you just love singing along with the radio all loud and proud...until someone tells you you're singing the wrong words!!

Sometimes I just can't believe those are the actual lyrics, when my words to the song sound so much better. LOL!!!

I always look up the lyrics just to make sure.

Do you sing to the wrong lyrics too???  I just think we're being creative...

I found this online somewhere...too funny!

Happy Thursday,
~Karen~

  2. I think Manfred Mann's "Blinded by the Light" is the best for this. I mean, what are the words after the title words? According to google they are "revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night". Really?? That's not what I sing! LOL

  4. So many songs like that. What I REALLY hate is when you pronounce them name of the artist incorrectly and some punk feels the need to correct you. But then early in the AM EVERYthing ticks me off. Waiting for the caffeine to kick in now..thank you.

    Love your Thursday posts.

  7. I was just thinking this this morning when I woke up to an 80s song and thought I still don't know the real words to this; I'll have to Google it. Back when we were kids (before the internet), my brother and I would get into LONG arguments about what the words to a song really were and if the artist didn't print them in the album jacket, you were out of luck because no one could rule on the case. Nowadays it's much easier with so many lyrics websites out there. There's even a smartphone app that will "listen" to a bit of the song and tell you what it is if you don't know the name or artist!

  8. For years I thought Huey Lewis wanted a new truck! So yes - I sing the wrong lyrics and sometimes a tv show will start me on that trend. I loved Dharma and Greg and he was singing Devil Woman trying to take a pebble out of me! It's stuck.

Nice post - thanks for the smile. g

  11. There's a whole website dedicated to this! :D http://kissthisguy.com/ (From Purple Haze, I believe, where Jimi actually says "Kiss the sky", but... yeah.) Okay, the lyric is actually "kiss the sky", but Jimi sometimes hammed it up in concert because people misheard "kiss this guy". Either way, funny site, we are definitely not alone! lol

  12. Don't put all your trust in google to have the correct lyrics, though. I found the a mistake in the same lyrics at several different sites. It was like the first one got it wrong and then everyone else just copied it to their site.

Oh well, don't let that stop you from singing.

    Keep cool and sing on!!

Thanks for sharing. They had something about the most songs sung wrong yesterday and it was funny. Stephanie
