ReplyDeleteApparently I'm older than you - the shows you listed were on when I was in high school when it had to be That Girl. As a child? Howdy Duty was my very favorite before I started school. When I was five, I told my mom I wanted to change my name to Princess Summer Fall Winter Spring. That's what I named my current dog although she goes by something much shorter. And then there was Rawhide with Clint Eastwood (even if he was the co-star rather than the star) and Wagon Train. Oh and Bonanza, in living color. It was the era of the western. I've found those three broadcast again on cable. One more thing that makes me feel young!!!
ReplyDeleteOMG! you forgot Batman and The Green Hornet! to the list.....I loved them so much that my father had to take the little tv out to the barn, yep farmers daughter, so I could watch those two shows while helping him with the milking. LOL...boy did that ever tell how old I am....LOL Thanks for the memories.
ReplyDeleteWe grew up out in the country. On a good day we got three channels. NBC, ABC, and CBS. My parents felt strongly that the kids needed to be outside playing off all that energy. The TV was turned on at 6pm for the news.
ReplyDeleteWe were allowed to watch the 8pm show and then off to bed.
When we went to grammas, she lived in town, we got to watch cartoons and sitcoms we did not get at home.
When I was in highschool we were allowed to watch more tv. That girl, Brady Bunch, Fantasy Island. Sunday night at 8 was a treat watching a Disney show.
First thing that came to mind was the Million Dollar Movie, out of NYC. I was a bit of an old movie junkie.. I did love lots of the shows listed. Remember watching all of the westerns with my dad. Good memories
ReplyDeleteWow, I loved lots of those shows too. When I got a little older (early teens), I loved scary shows like The Night Stalker and Circle of Fear - creepy!
ReplyDeleteWhen I read your post today I immediately thought of Emergency, i had such a huge crush on Randolph Mantooth, even watched him later on the soap Loving. Then of course Chips and Eric Estrada, I also had a crush on Tony Orlando from Tony Orlando and Dawn. Saturday mornings I love School House Rock, Im just a bill sitting on capital hill...... conjunction junction whats your function, hookin up phrases and clauses.

So many memories- Adam 12, Hogan's Heros, Emergency, Gilligan's Island, McHales Navy, Green Acres, I Dream of Jeannie...
ReplyDeleteAnyone watch Lost in Space? (Danger Will Robinson!) So hokey, but I loved it! ABC's Wild World of Sports was watched with Dad on the weekends (but never boxing or Stock car racing!) and Sunday I loved Wonderful World of Disney!
ReplyDeleteIf I was lucky and could stay up a bit longer. I loved watching Alfred Hitcock Hour. Those were my shows also.
ReplyDeleteAdam 12
Partridge Family
Hogan's Heros
but we were outside so much in those days and were able to run around. I went miles from home and my mom never worried. I lived in Calif. and they had model homes. We would act like we owned it and would make up how it looked inside. or even play hide and seek.
Those were the days.
Oh, I love reminiscing! We'd watch Twilight Zone, Here Come the Brides, Wild Wild West, Sonny and Cher and the Carol Burnett Show. I loved the Smothers Brothers and Laugh-In. We loved all that variety show stuff!
ReplyDeleteI remember when the Flintstones were the prime time show on Friday nights! I couldn't miss them! And I also loved all the others ones everyone has listed, especially Bewitched(I still watch if it's on, but don't like the new Darren!) and reruns of I Love Lucy forever, lol!
ReplyDeleteI said "yes" to every show you mentioned. We must be close to the same age. :) I also loved Happy Days and Green Acres!
ReplyDeleteYou left out Batman and from my early childhood: the cartoon Kimba the White Lion.
ReplyDeleteOf course, I'm thinking I'm a bit older than you :)
Your favorite shows at a kid will definitely date you...when I was a kid it was listening to the radio. The Shadow Knows and on Sat morning it was Captain Midnight. At lunch your mom listened to Helen Trent. Anyone remember back that far?
ReplyDeleteI guess I'm slightly younger, so.. The Amazing Race! It was my window to the world before high-speed broadband Internet arrived!
ReplyDeletePretty much the same as yours, with Disney's Wonderful World of Color. I know there are others as well, but my brain refuses to try to think of them! LOL
