PicMonkey...My New Photo Editing Site

Pictures are important to everyone...not just blogging pictures, but the pictures we take of our family and friends. Photos are a permanent record of our lives, so making them extra special is a must.

In the past, to add that special touch to photos, I have always used the free photo editing service of Picnik. Unfortunately, Picnik is closing down in April. The site is still great and open for use by anyone...free of charge...even the premium services are free.

However, I've found an awesome new site that was started by 2 former Picnik engineers...

PicMonkey!!! This is the BEST photo editing site. I have no affiliation with them... just LOVE them and wanted to share. They're funny too!

The site is...

  • user friendly
  • has so many features
  • and it's FREE...yay!

The categories are...
  • Basic...crop, rotate, resize etc
  • Effects...so many!!
  • Touch Ups...wrinkle remover etc (Yay!!)
  • Text...add words
  • Overlays...add  shapes
  • Borders...add frames, rounded corners etc
You must pop over to give them a try...CLICK HERE for a visit. You won't be disappointed.

Have a happy Monday,
~Karen~

  1. I am sad Picnik is closing....BIG mistake Google...Huge!! I too, stumbled upon Picmonkey. It is easy to use which is a great plus for me. I do have Photoshop, but with easier programs like Picnik I never forced myself to use it much. I have been playing with it more and I am starting to figure it out a little, but I like having something simple when I want to edit a photo in a few minutes vs. an hour such as Picmonkey. I also discovered ipiccy.com which is free as well and offers curves.

  3. Thanks so much! I too was mourning the loss of Picnik. And I too have photoshop but no time to really learn it especially with sites that make photo editing so much easier. Thanks so much for sharing this info!!

  17. Thanks so much Karen. PicMonkey is AWESOME!! It's too bad I didn't know about this site about 3 days ago. My husband is installing Photoshop Elements 10 and it's NOT user-friendly. Now that I have it, I've also found there's no user manual so I ordered 'The Missing Manual' so I can learn to use it. Knowing about PicMonkey would have saved us alot of money and much more frustration. I did not know free programs like this existed. I guess I need to do more exploring.

I'm new to your blog and love it. Thanks for sharing your creativity, suggestions and hard work. You are truly an INSPIRATION.

  21. {{{Hugs to you Karen!}}} Thank you so much for this info! I too like Jewelry Bug says, installed Photoshop Elements two years ago and have not touch the darn thing....feels too complicated! Am checking out the one Farmer&39;s Wife say about ipiccy. I'm so excited...I've got 2 sites to play with for my pictures! Again "Thanks so much Karen for this info".

  28. Thanks for the tip on this other photo editer. I went there to check it out and loved all the different possibilities to perfect photos. Thank you for sharing!

  29. Thanks for telling me about that site! I was using Light Box (the free version) which I really like but I don't think it has a way to erase wrinkles. At almost 50 years old, I needed an easy-to-use wrinkle-eraser :)
