I'm Weird Wednesday...Are You Weird Too?

Let me take that back...maybe not weird. How about wacky!

A while ago, I did a post on crazy things I do, like skipping the first 2 slices of bread in a loaf when making sandwiches. Click here for the story. Well, according to all the comments on that post, we all do weird things.

Thought I would have Weird Wednesday...I really am a sane person, but this post sure doesn't help my case!!

You know that Ritz crackers or any cracker for that matter, have a front and a back. See picture below for proof. The rounded "front" on the left and the flat "back" on the right...I know what you're thinking...she's nuts and even more nuts for sharing this!

I make peanut butter crackers for my husband's lunch. I only put the peanut butter on the "back" side of the cracker. Why? I have no idea...and I think I've always done this.

This makes a well rounded cracker sandwich. At this point, you are all thinking...Ok, where's the straight jacket!

Thought this post would break up the crafty side of my blog by adding a little crazy side to my blog. Crafty...Crazy or Crazy...Crafty. Maybe they're the same thing.

Do you do weird things too? It's Wednesday, so you can share it here without any one thinking you're nuts...almost like a Weird Wednesday amnesty day.

Come on! Share it with us...you can do it. We don't judge here. LOL!!

  1. um...do you think there are people out there that DON'T know that crackers have front side and a back side? That's just crazy...

  2. My best friend in high school called me quirky, not weird. I do so many weird things that I think are normal that none come to mind. Is it weird that i have a drawer for "openers" (like can/bottle openers) in my kitchen and I put the peeler in there because it "opens" my fruits and vegetables?

  3. Doesn't EVERYONE spread butter on the "wrong" side?.....

Another thing I do which makes my friends laugh (and worry) ... if I ever hang something on a clothes-line I have to use pegs with the same colour for each item........

(if you plan having a weird wednesday I think you'll here some more from me)

  4. Makes complete sense to me! LOL I'd do the same thing! :0)

  5. I do the same thing with crackers, so if you are weird, then I am too.

Have you tried coating the cracker sandwiches with chocolate? I used to make them for neighbor gifts (some with white chocolate and others with milk chocolate). YUMMY!

  6. I'm the same. The topping has to be on the flat side. No idea why! LOL

Thanks for sharing your little piece of insanity. :o)

  7. Not just topping on the flat side. When you eat crackers, like with soup or chili, you must eat them with the top touching your tongue!! That's where the salt is, see!?! :-D AND -- when you make sandwiches -- the sides and top should all be the same direction. Nothing more annoying than the crust all willy-nilly!! I'm just sayin'....
    You are not alone!

  8. Do I do weird things?
I no doubt do, but I don't think they're weird.

Well, I do folding and putting away laundry I do fold all the pairs of socks in half with the heels to the right. Would I call that weird ??
    I didn't think weird, I thought orderly, 8^}

  9. I'm with you on the crackers and the bread. The bread thing drives my husband nuts.

  10. back at the beginning of my blog I wrote (and photographed) my method of dividing up M&Ms by color and eating them in a certain order...

    ReplyDelete
  11. even weirder is that when I eat a Ritz or any other kind of cracker with two different sides, I like to have the rounded side facing down toward my tongue when I eat it.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I thought that's the only way to make peanut butter crackers!

    ReplyDelete
  13. What do you mean?...I'M WEIRD!! :o) (I do this the same way....and never gave it a thought...until NOW!!)

  14. You mean everyone doesn't do it that way? And the bread thing.....I do that too. :)

  15. I do the same thing with crackers AND the same thing with bread. I also do not like fruits that are touching so I don't eat fruit salad. I like my fruit "nekkid"! I always put my left sock on first. There are lots more...I am wacky!

  16. I agree that your way is the only way to make PB and crackers. I also usually skip the first 2 slices in a loaf of bread. So, perhaps we aren't the ones who are "weird".
I match the plastic hanger color to the color of the shirt I'm hanging up.
I hope you do more weird Wednesdays because I enjoyed reading all of these.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I don't think that's weird at all. But I do think it's extremely cute that you make pb-cracker sandwiches for your husband's lunch. Love it. :)

    ReplyDelete
  18. Ha....I'm the same!! ...with the bread too!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Weird? Wacky? I thought that was all normal! I do the same thing with my bread and crackers. Normal. Haha!

    ReplyDelete
  20. I do the same thing with my bread and crackers! I see I am in a good company. There's a lot of us that do!

    ReplyDelete
  21. I think I always put it on the front, it is the front, lol.
I tend to dig into the bread too, seems softer than the ends;)
Being weird is what makes us who we are.

  22. I never thought about being weird or doing weird things but I'm sure that I am and do weird things too. Big T is very AR and has several things that are kind of cute but weird to me. Hmmm - I reserve the right to think about this awhile.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Well, I thought I was normal. Now I know I am not!! I do the same thing with crackers and always thought that was the way to do it!!!
Another one: I never finish my coffee, tea or whatever I am having in a cup. I always leave some and drive everyone crazy at home because of that. They are the weird ones!!! haha!! Oh! I can share my food, but never my fruits unless I cut a piece for you. I would never eat an apple if someone bites it first.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I can honestly say I have never been called normal. If you can do something easy, I usually complicate it to make it harder. I think that makes me qualify!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Actually, I do the same weird cracker thing too! My family thinks it's weird that I have our pantry ultra-organized: Canned foods are neatly in rows of the like with labels to the front; pasta all together; cereals lined up; etc. It drives me NUTS to know I have gotten something for a recipe and cannot find it!! Years ago, I had a friend come over for lunch. She slipped into my pantry to grab something and hollered out, "Have you ever seen that Julia Roberts movie 'Sleeping With The Enemy'"? LOL... LOVE your blog!!

  26. I'll bet if you ask him, he'll tell you they taste better that way. Certainly better than the store bought peanut butter cracker sandwiches!

  27. You are not nuts! You made me smile!

    Btw-how are your kids doing?

    Thanks for making my day,
    Stefanie

  28. Ok I asked my hubby he said its weird that I salt my watermelon, cantalope, ect. Or that I eat bannana mayo sandwiches. My children say its weird that I sleep with one foot outside the covers. Or that I want the Christmas tree and decorations down before New Years, so you don't take something old into the new year. Wait you only asked for one thing. My bad. LOL

  29. Oh sh--! I thought I was weird (and proud of it), but now that I see we all do the cracker thing, I'm a little bummed that I'm not so weird...sigh.

I do the same thing with the bread...I HATE making a sandwich where the bread is two different sizes...and the humps on top MUST line up when putting the samdwich together, SO...I take 2 pieces out of the bread bag at the same time and open them up on the plate...

AND I also separate my M & M's by color before eating them (and always eat the green ones LAST!)...

And I match sock heels when folding clothes...AND I match up dirty socks AS they go into the washing machine. Then, if any are missing when they come out of the dryer, I know the "sock god" took "his share" and I don't get upset my it...

    Great topic...

    In stitches,
    Teresa :o)

When I give anyone coins (money) they are always in a stack with quarters on the bottom, then nickels, then pennies, and finally dimes...largest diameter to smallest. The bills always oriented the same way...

And most of you saw my post on Stash Manicure last weekend, so YOU ALREADY KNOW I am wacky about my stash...

    ReplyDelete
  30. I am definitely going to jump on this weird truck driving by!
I also grab past the beginning pieces of bread in the bag too. I also start eating any type of sandwich from the flat end up to the rounded end. I have always done that and discovered my mom and cousin do it too!!

this is fun!! love your blog by the way!!

    ReplyDelete
  31. I refuse to take the first item on the shelf...I reach behind the first one to take one from the back:)

    ReplyDelete
  32. When I make a sandwich I have to "book" the pieces of bread. I can't just put them on any way, they have to match at the top. I was even at a fund raiser at the church (someone else made the sandwiches), I searched through the sandwiches to find one that matched before I could eat it. I know "weird".

  33. I do the same thing with bread. I don't take the first couple of slices...don't know why, I feel the ones in the middle are softer...I dunno but I'm right there with ya sista

    ReplyDelete
  35. when i eat sandwiches i have to eat equal amounts on each side of may mouth (i.e. one half each side lol )I also do the bread thing, and always leave some coffee or tea in the bottom of the cup
    seems
    we are all mad !!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I have always got my bread from the middle. The 2 near the end are only for toast when there is no other bread. And of course there is a right and wrong side to a cracker, lol. Up until now I always thought I was normal. I'm weird too!!! LOL. I'll have to watch myself and see what I do.

    ReplyDelete
  37. That's me with the crackers too. I'll take it far enough to notice the when the ritz little bites (they come with cheese or peanut butter already on them) are made "wrong".

I wont clean my sewing area until I'm done with a project. Done might mean done with piecing or done with quilting. While in the middle of a project I will only tidy, and then all of the sudden zip clean.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Perfectly normal things...you know how crackers have a salt side and a plain side...I have always eaten the cracker salt side down to my tongue...

    ReplyDelete
  39. Well, it's already thursday but I'll add my two cents anyway. First of all, I peanut butter the round side of the ritz cracker otherwise when I set it down, it will be upside down and I can't have that. Then again I don't make little sandwiches out of them. And here's why: whenever I have a sandwich cookie, I must carefully twist it open, eat the plain, dull crunchy part (fast) to get it out of the way. Then slowly enjoy the second half with exactly the right amount of frosting (or other yummy filling) to go along with the crunch. I have a ton of other "wierdnesses" too. It was fun reading all these!!

  40. isn't it the way to put peanut butter (or anything)? For the first 13 years I lived in the States and now am back in malaysia, that is the only way my mum would have it.

    ReplyDelete
  41. OK, OK!!! I guess we are all nuts! :) Does anyone know how to sign up for the easy 10 step program on learning how to butter the round side of the cracker??? lol!!!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  42. Are you calling me wacky & weird? I always make sure that the peanut butter is on the "wrong" side. And the freshest slices are deep in the loaf why wouldn't you eat them first?

    ReplyDelete
  43. I am not weird! You can't put peanut butter on the front of the cracker. Who would want inside out peanut butter/cracker sandwiches?

    ReplyDelete
  44. I think you are absolutely right about the crackers - that side is flatter. It just makes so much sense. And I always skip the first few pieces of bread too. Now I'm going to go think of other weird things I do. I'm sure I'll find some o:)

  45. aren't we all weird in our own weird ways...haha

  46. My "weird" comment is about a boyfriend I had years ago. When he did laundry, he would fold all of his (dirty) jeans with the seams together, so there would be a crease down the center of the legs. Then he'd put them in the washer. When the washer was done, he'd shake them out, fold them with the creases again, and put them in the dryer. He claimed it helped the crease stay. I vowed right then and there NEVER to do his laundry!

  47. Peanut butter on crackers...??? That IS wierd!!! You see, where I come from (the good ol' Land Down Under) we eat our crackers with Vegemite!!! Yummmmmmmm!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Ha ha Me too! I make these for my kiddo & only put the PB on the back. Isn't that the only way to do it? :)

    ReplyDelete
  49. I like to make mine the same way then coat them in melted chocolate for a nice cookie. Just let the chocolate cool and your good to go.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I don't think you're weird, that's exactly how I put peanut butter on my crackers. I usually save the end piece of bread to keep the others from drying out. Now does that sound weird? LOL

    ReplyDelete
  51. I do that too. I don't think that's crazy or weird... it's the people who don't do it that way that are doing it wrong. On the other hand, my kids like to tease me about my OCD ways.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Yes, I'm crazy too. When I butter my toast, I HAVE to make sure the butter gets right to the edges on all four sides. I don't like dry toast, and this works for me.

    ReplyDelete
  53. WOW! I am too! It must be in the creativity somewhere to be a little weird! I have to have all white hangers for my clothes, they have to be in color order, like a rainbow, and from tank tops to long sleeves. The tank tops have to be on the hangers with a notch in the top so they don't fall off. My jeans are even stacked by color light to dark.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Of course crackers have a front and back side, I thought everyone knew that. As for weird, after I put mayonnaise on my sandwich I then take the flat side of the knife and scrape most of it off again.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I love your weird and wacky posts!! They always make me smile :)

And we love you all the more for your little quirks!!

  56. I think the ritz peanut butter sandwich assembly is the correct way, I also skip the fittest few slices in my loaf of bread, you want to have 2 slices that are the same size.
So, not weird or wacky at all!
I always start a new cross stitch project in the upper left hand corner, not the middle....maybe that is weird?
    Have a great weekend.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I think it's a basic instinct built into all crafters. It makes total sense and I do the exact same thing! When you put the peanut butter on the flat side it not only holds more peanut butter between because the space between the crackers is parallel instead of concave, but it also looks nicer on both sides :o)

PS I also skip the first 2 slices of bread....

    ReplyDelete
  58. Karen if you're weird I'm weird. I do the same
thing with the crackers. Especially if I am dipping them in chocolate.":O)

  59. Funny! I was just saying that I'd like to try this with placemats, then I saw the placemat instructions. I guess great minds think alike! Thanks for this.
