These first 2 pictures are for all the Walton's fans out there from this post. We drove down to Florida from New England. We took interstate 81 through the Shenandoah Valley. We cut through Virginia to get back on interstate 95. We didn't get to stop at the Walton's museum, because it was too far off the beaten path...we were on a Disney mission. However, I did get to snap a few pictures of these highway signs. Only a Walton's fan will get this. If you click on the first one, you'll see Waynesboro and Charlottesville. These signs cracked me up!!!

Cinderella's castle of course
The day of the parade was raining so hard you couldn't see. There were tornado warnings and all. Here we are under a little awning trying to stay try and keep the girls' parade hair perfect!! We were waiting for the ok from Disney that the parade was still on.
Woo Hoo...the rain stopped. Courtney and Kelsie are the first 2 in the long line on the right. They were beyond excited!
Sorry it's the back of Mickey, not fast enough with the camera.
Can't forget Minnie.
The girls on the Dumbo ride...never too old for Dumbo. This ride has a family story with it, so they really wanted to go on. Maybe I'll tell you another time...it's a long story.
It was the flower and garden show at Epcot. Beautiful flowers every where. The girls loved these because they looked like gum drops. They also had life size figures of all the Disney characters made with flower...they were beautiful.
Awesome trip! It brings back memories.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a wonderful family vacation! Your girls are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh my they looked great marching!!
ReplyDeleteYour girls are beautiful! and I loved seeing all your pictures! thank you for sharing your vacation with us!!!
Karen...thank you for sharing your beautiful daughters with us! It looks like they were having a terrific time! I love seeing others' photos--not boring at all! Have a good week!

ReplyDeleteGreat family pics, Karen. Makes me realize how much I miss Florida.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
Love the photos and memories galore came back to me. My daughter was drum majorette when her school marching band marched in EPCOT's parade. You stayed at a nicer hotel than our band stayed at.....we were off-premises. When we've gone with family, we always stay on-site...and it's so much easier to have the use of their transportation system. Thanks for taking the time to post all of these!
ReplyDeleteVery nice pictures! It looks like you all had such a good time. Never to old for Disneyland, eh?
ReplyDeleteHi Pat,
ReplyDeleteThe school did stay off premises at a Radisson Hotel just outside Disney. We thought this would be our last big vacation for while, because Courtney is off to college in September and Kelsie the year after that. In other words we'll be broke!! We thought we would splurge on this one. Plus the band flew down and stayed 4 days. We had to drive and stayed a little longer. Great memories!
~Karen~
What a super trip. You all look like you had an awesome time. I can totally relate with the Walton thing. If we drive on our next trip to NC I am taking a detour. I love the Waltons.
ReplyDeleteLove the WDW pics. The rainy ones look just like our trip! I can't believe they are still wearing those horrible boots. Our color guard wore them 20 years ago. The girls all hated them then. Prom pictures next?
ReplyDeleteOh! I looooovvvee the Walton's, too! Looks like you had a great trip - sounds so much fun.
ReplyDeleteTHe Disney trip looks like lots of fun! I'm glad the rain stopped so the parade could go on! And how fun to see the sign for Charlottesville! We're huge Waltons fans so I think we might have to take a trip down that way one day! :0)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a great time! We went the week before Christmas! It was awesome!
