Last Day of High School...

space
Do you remember my PB and J sandwich post from a while back? Well, the last sandwich I'll ever have to make for the brown paper lunch bag came and went and I didn't even realize it. I made her lunch Wednesday morning just like every other day...all knowing that the next day would be the last. On Thursday, Kelsie woke up and said she didn't need a lunch, because they were getting out early after the Graduation practice.

What? Wednesday's sandwich was the last?? Actually, I'm probably better off... no tears that way. Our baby girl will graduate tonight at 6:00 pm and the weather is perfect...sunny and 80*. A little hot, but better than rain!

Here she is leaving for school this morning's graduation practice, bright and early! Last day.

and here are Annie and Hallie watching her leave! Last day for them to watch her go out the door in the morning.

After the ceremony, the students are bused to an All Night Graduation Party. Parents raised $21,000 so the kids would have a safe place to celebrate after graduation. The facility has a big all you can eat luau, paint ball, bowling, swimming, a comedian, magician, carnival games, blow up moon bounces, basketball, fun obstacle courses, crazy balloon man etc...

Everyone stays up all night and are bused back home at 6:00 am. My husband and I are part of the chaperon group, so please wish us luck with 150-200 kids!! I've already started drinking iced coffee to get my caffeine fix.

I'll let you know how it goes on Saturday...if I don't sleep the day away!

  12. Bittersweet, but you did good!! Our HS graduated tonight too. They also have an all night party, but the senior's parents don't chaperone, the undergrad parents do. My hubby is there right now. He has the 8:30 - 12:30 shift. They have a ton of things just like your daughter will be having too. They call it "The Substance Free Graduation Party". All the students take a pledge and it is a safe place for them to be. Congrats to you all!

  15. Oh the memories. We did the project graduation with 849 kids...Wheewww. The parents of the Junior class chaperone the seniors graduating. That way the senior parents can be worry free and go home and collapse.

She is lovely. You should be so proud. sniff sniff...circle of life.

  17. Enjoy every precious minute - it goes too fast.

I love the canning jar post (just read it, I have been out of touch for several weeks). My niece was just here with an 8 month old and I saved all the "plastic baby food containers" to see what I could do with them.

  18. I honestly think it's so neat that you always fixed a bag lunch for your children!! Too many kids nowadays eat just junk food from the vending machines or pizza and french fries DAILY in the cafeteria!! What LOVE!!!

  21. Enjoy every minute of it, I just watched my last of 8 children graduate. Now its marriages, babbies, Army boot camp (x2 so far) and more memories than this old head can keep. Remember the small things, write them down for her she will soon forget as life takes her by the arm. Good luck with staying up all night, I couldn't do it. LOL
