Double Use for Phone Charging Station...Sewing Box!!

Some of life's ordinary things can have double duty and make our day a little easier or at least pretty! I found a phone charging box in a thrift store a long time ago. It sits between 2 couches where everyone watches tv. We all have phone chargers in our bedrooms, but that time when you are watching television and your phone is low, I have these plugs available for iPhones and iPads.

I sit right next to this box, in the corner of the couch and do my hand sewing or little projects...charging my phone if needed.

I realized I wasn't using the drawer in the front...until now!! Now it holds all my hand sewing supplies for my mini hexies.

Then I had a better idea for the whole box. Pop in to see...

Hi everyone! You know I just love taking the most mundane things and turning them into something fun and useful. This suction cup sponge holder is the perfect example.

I found this in a thrift store in the bottom of a junk basket in the kitchen section for one dollar!

Sugar Dispenser Turned…Sewing Kit or String Dispenser

Welcome to another Tool Time Tuesday. Today, I'm are up cycling an old sugar dispenser that I don't use any more. If you don't use something any more, before you store it away or get rid of it, see if you can turn it into something else!!

Here is the sugar dispenser…

Cute, but I haven't used it in a while, so I wanted to switch it up.

Tool Time Tuesday...Shower Caddy Sewing Organizer

Hi Everyone! First, I want to thank all of you who commented and emailed me this weekend during the blizzard. We were hit hard in New England...about 2-3 feet of snow Friday into Saturday and then ice Monday. We lost power for about 3 days and just had our internet restored Monday. I took these pictures with my phone just in case I needed to do another Phone Post with my Blogger app, but thankfully we're back in business!!

Today's Tool Time is all about the shower caddy. If you have or had children in college or you're in college right now, you know the "shower caddy" all too well!!

Our 2 daughters are both in college and they each have one to carry all their bathroom and shower necessities from their dorm room to the shower/bathroom area. Keeps things organized, contained and easy to carry.

I found this one in the clearance rack at Walmart for $1.50 and had to get it. Can't beat $1.50. I've seen them in so many stores, but Bed Bath and Beyond online has them for $7.99. They can cost any where from $5.00 -$10.00 if they're not on clearance. Some are much higher, but not sure why.

Thrifty Thursday...Placemat Sewing Caddy

Hello everyone...it's Thrifty Thursday again. The day we try to use things we have around the house. I just recently started Thrifty Thursday, but you can click HERE if you missed the other posts.

Today's project is an Armchair Sewing Caddy...made from a placemat you have tucked in a drawer not being used.
