Quilt Show Pictures To Share...

Hi Everyone!! My friend Tina, from Seaside Stitches, and I went on a little road trip to a fabulous quilt show north of Hartford, Connecticut. Our friend Jackie, from Canton Village Quilts, organized the best show. Not only were there beautiful quilts to look at, but it was held in the New England Air Museum. This was a great place for husbands or significant others to come along too!!

There were vintage World War II quilts from a private collection and so many other quilts that were enter into the show. The "Things With Wings Quilt Show" was just great...thanks Jackie. See Jackie's post for more pictures.

Here are the World War II quilts...

This is me on the left with Sue Reich, the owner of all the vintage WWII quilts and the author of so many wonderful books. I bought one that day.

Here she is signing it for me!!

and here I am with partner in crime!! LOL

There were so many beautiful quilts, but these are just a few of my favorites...

This was MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE...oh my gosh, to die for!!

Here's a little glimpse of the Air's huge

See the quilts and Tina on the left? Just spectacular.

Hope you enjoyed the show!!

  1. A great collection of quilts. They gave me some inspiration for more Quilts of Valor.

  2. I wish I'd known about this show-- my Mom's a quilter, and I live right near Hartford, CT. Would have loved to have met you in person!

  3. Amazing - wish I could have gone with you. History and quilts and airplanes - if they served wine it would be heaven ;)
My favourites were the Victory Quilt and that amazing handpieced hexie quilt. I think I need to catch the hexie bug!

  4. Great show....what a terrific venue! And I'm loving that first red/white raffle quilt! Amazing work......I thought at first they were pieced spokes on a wheel type block, but it's actually an appliqued one-piece flower shape. Amazing! Thanks for sharing!

  5. Wonderful post! Loved seeing the vintage quilts, and the modern.

  6. I did enjoy it, thanks! That Grandmother's Flower Garden is amazing--I've never seen one with the little diamond shapes in the "path". Wonderful venue indeed, so great to see those old planes.

  7. So beautiful! I love reading the stories behind the quilts, too.

  8. Absolutely amazing....what a lovely collection and thank you so much for sharing it with us. My favorite is the Grandmothers Flower Garden too....I think it will always be my favorite.
