Wine Cork Backsplash Finished...

Last week's Tool Time was a wine cork backsplash. You can click HERE if you missed it. In that post, I showed you the process of design and gluing the corks to a mounting board, but I ran out of wine corks. Ebay to the rescue.

I high recommend buying used corks from eBay. This batch came in 2 days and they were great.

Just make sure you buy from a great seller and they offer mostly or all "cork" corks, not synthetic wine corks. Synthetic corks feel like rubber. I have a batch of those and I'm thinking of a different project for those!

This batch had some, but the price was right for the quantity of real cork.

 Come on in and see!!!

I just love the texture and color it adds to the dark black cabinet.

Buying corks on eBay or any other online source, helps to get a great variety of wine company logos and names.

All set for the next family party!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek into the little corners of my home.

Take care,
~Karen~

  1. Looks great, I too would have to buy corks on ebay as I don't drink wine, but love this look.

  5. I love this. I have 2 huge plastic containers full of wine corks and have been trying to think of something to do with them. I'm thinking I might do the entire area between my countertops and the overhead cabinets.

  7. Gosh. This turned out so pretty! I saved hundreds of wine corks over the years, and then when we moved, I gave them all away! Wish I had a place in my home to do something like this. It's lovely.

  9. I've got a nice big trivet made like this that I just love. We saved some corks, but it would take eons for me to save enough since I probably drink 3 glasses of wine a year. My parents gave me tons of corks for my trivet. Your backsplash turned out great!
