Tool Time Tuesday...Ribbon Organization

Hi everyone. A few weeks ago I shared a post for organizing quilt rulers using a belt scarf ring. Well, I found another idea for the same ring...ribbon organizing.

Come on in and see another idea using a pant hanger...

This is the belt and scarf hanger. Just slip the belt buckles between the tension of the 2 metal knobs. The tension keeps them on the hanger.

For ribbon spools, just open the knobs wide enough for the width of the spool.

and pop the knobs into the center of the spool.

The second idea is a pant hanger.

Most pany hangers have arms or rods that hinge and swing out.

This is a close up of one end of the rod.

Just un-clip it and it's ready for ribbon.

In this case, the spools fit every other rod due to their size. The middle hangers could fit smaller spools or the "end of the spool" pieces of ribbon that you roll yourself.

The belt hangers can hold all different colors or if you have a few hangers you could separate them by one hanger for one color!

  1. I love the paint hanger idea! I'm lucky to have found an old school card catalog to hold my ribbon in: http://myplvl.blogspot.com/2013/08/sunday-organizing-ribbon-storage.html

  3. Good Afternoon Karen, Well I never, what a fabulous idea. I have my ribbons (lots of them) stored in boxes, but the way you have shown us, I would be able to see at a glance which ribbons I wanted to use.
Thank you once again, for another fabulous idea.
    Best Wishes
