Easy Microwave Fudge Recipe...and a Great Big Thank You

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I am blown away by all the love and support I have received from my last post. The blogging world is amazing and so caring no matter what the situation. One great big world connected by one small computer. I am slowly but surely responding to each comment and personal email that I received. However, there were so many comments that where shared through a google plus account or no reply blogger account that have no email address attached for me write back. For all of you that don't hear from me, a great big hug is being sent your way today.

I have another way of saying Thank You to everyone...CHOCOLATE!!!!

I have used this chocolate fudge recipe for years now and it's always a hit with my family, my hubby in particular. I always make this for the holidays and it isn't Christmas if it's not on the goodie tray. However, I was thinking how perfect this recipe would be for a quick Valentine's Day present!!

Chocolate Fudge

original recipe is found here

3 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
dash of salt

Prepare an 8 or 9 inch square cake pan by lining it with waxed or parchment paper and set aside.

The original recipe says to melt over the stove, but I have always made this only in the microwave in a matter of minutes and it's so easy.

Mix chocolate chips and condensed milk in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds to one minute at a time until melted. Stir in vanilla and dash of salt.

Spoon into pan and press fudge into the corners and even out thickness. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until set, about 2 hours.

Lift waxed paper out of pan and peel off the back of the fudge. Cut into one inch cubes.

Now you can just serve this in a decorative candy dish, but if you want to make a cute little gift out of it, you can wrap them individually in waxed paper.

Cut squares of waxed paper or plastic wrap. Place fudge square in the middle, roll up the paper and twist the ends to secure.

Quick and easy to grab and stays fresh longer.

You can use a cute cellophane bag and ribbon or a little red take out box you can find in any craft store to give the fudge as the perfect Valentine's gift.

This recipe is the best and I hope you will give it a try. It's great as a gift or that hidden stash you steal from once in a while for a treat!! Either way, they won't last long

Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart, for all your love and support,

  1. Thank you so much for this. My Mother used to make this and the recipe was lost after several moves and nursing homes etc. On my list for Valentine's Day!

  6. hmmmmm ... i wonder how old that can of sweetened condensed milk is in my pantry ... this might be the occasion I was waiting for, to check it out (yum) or chuck it out (it's really old).

i will definitely use the waxed paper twisties ... maybe i'll cut two sides with my old pinking shears.
    Thank You!

  7. This is an awesome recipe. One hint for anyone interested - use the homemade condensed milk one can = one recipe. My daughter makes it that way and it turns out totally different from mine. And so easy and impressive.

  11. Sounds yummy! I have milk chocolate chips. I may try it with them, instead of the semi sweet chips. Thanks.

  13. Thank you for the recipe, I will have to put it on the back burner (had minor car accident today, need to recover). Your previous log was heart wrenching. I have not experience what you are going through so I can only imagine. As you have seen there is a lot of love and support out there and people in similar situations, so you will never be alone.
