Jo Packham, the creator and editor-in-chief of the magazine, emailed me last fall asking if she could use a few photographs from my blog. She was teaching a class on the "Art of Organization" at the Houston Quilt Festival and thought the photos from my fabric filing idea would work well for her class. As she was looking through my blog and the post on my sewing room, she emailed me back asking if they could feature my room in their magazine...Woo Hoo!!!
I want to thank Jo Packham, Brandy Shay and Gabriela Perdomo from the magazine for all their help and support! I can't thank you enough.
The magazine hired Gulino Photography, a wonderful photographer from my area, to take the photographs for the feature. Not only did Gregg and Julie Gulino do a fantastic job taking the pictures, but they made me feel comfortable during the whole process and have become life long friends. Thanks Gregg and Julie!
I took this picture at the register of Michael's Craft Store the other day. That's the magazine on the right and I was tickled pink to see my name on the cover.
I hope you'll have a chance to read the magazine. The creative spaces they feature are all so inspiring!
Thanks so much for stopping by,
~Karen~

ReplyDeleteHi!
ReplyDeleteI love Where Women Create! I read your article this morning and had to visit your blog. I love that you work a day job and create and blog in your off time. I am a teacher by day and a knitter/crocheter/needle-felter/blogger by evening or when I have any energy left. I love summer vacation because I have the energy and the time to do what I love to do. I am deeply inspired by your organized studio. I look forward to reading your future blog posts.
Congratulations on your daughter's graduation!
