Courtney handed me these clips and said, I'm sure you can clamp something with these for a blog post.
Perfect little clips for holding cords on small appliance in the kitchen.
The clips work great on small appliance that we don't use on a daily basis…waffle irons, George Forman grills etc.
The clips come in different sizes, but all work the same. Just squeeze…
and the teeth part open up.
Wrap the cord around the appliance or in a bundle and clamp it.
This prevents the cords from getting all tangled together. The worst is when you pull the appliance out of the cupboard, the cord gets wrapped around something else and everything comes out at the same time.
When we did our kitchen remodel last year, I not only gained a microwave over my stove (for the first time ever in my life), but I also added a small cabinet too. It's perfect for all those small appliances…2 waffle irons, 2 different sized grills and a little cake ball maker that Courtney gave me for Christmas.
They are stored up and out of the way, but still easy to see and get to. The cords are all wrapped and clamped, so nothing comes out except the one gadget I need!
You can find these clips in any store and they can be used for some much more than just appliance cords.

ReplyDeleteI know that you don't intentionally want to make me feel like an idiot but it's happened again. Do you know how many years I have struggled with small appliance cords? TOO MANY! What a terrific and simple idea Karen. And BTW ... I think brunch should be at your home next weekend since you have 2 waffle makers and can handle crowds.

ReplyDeleteMore great ideas, I am going on a quilt retreat in a week and I am sharing your idea about the tubing to cover bobbins along with a couple multi use items. One thing I just learned this week was to use the alcohol wipes that come in the little packets to un gum your sewing machine needle after you have been sewing with adhesives. You simply sew thru the wipe in the package and viola.
ReplyDeleteI use the much smaller version of these hair clips to corral the cords from our various electronic devices. Works great. I hadn't thought of using the large version for large cords, but will from now on.
