Pumpkin Fluff…Dessert or Dip

Hi everyone! I'm trying to get back into shape after a long holiday season. My theory is…so and steady wins the race. I've been back to the gym again every day and eating better. I never use the word diet, because that just sets me up for failure. I'll just make changes in my life that work for me and over time I'll be where I want to be…back in my favorite tan shorts (without the waist band cutting off my circulation, Lol).

I'm not a big dessert person to begin with (savory things are my absolute favorite), but when I do want something sweet I need to make it somewhat healthy. Pinterest to the rescue! I found this recipe for Pumpkin Fluff that can either be served as a pudding type dessert or used as a dip.

I just LOVE anything pumpkin, so this is perfect…


All you need are these few easy ingredients.

  • small box of fat free and sugar free vanilla or white chocolate pudding
  • 15 oz can of pumpkin
  • 8 oz container of fat free Cool Whip
  • dash of pumpkin pie spice...I used a dash of "five spice", but you can use anything you'd like

Mix dry pudding powder, pumpkin and the spice. Fold in Cool Whip until light and fluffy. Refrigerate until chilled or eat it right away like I did.

You can serve this as a dessert on it's own or as a dip. For the dip, you can use graham crackers, Nilla Wafers or slices of apple. If you are trying to stay healthy, maybe try the low fat versions of those crackers.

  1. I LOVE pumpkin fluff! Delicious & filling yet low in calories. Always goes over well when I serve as a dip. I've also used ginger snaps and vanilla wafers. Have you also had the carmel apple fluff? Made with apples, crushed pineapple, butterscotch pudding & Cool Whip? Yummy too.

  2. Looks yummy but my husband has respectfully 'banned' anything that is in the form of edible pumpkin, in our home. He had a bad experience when he was younger which resulted in his opinions about pumpkin 'anything'. And yes, Halloween is a rough time around here!

  3. This also makes a good pie--just put the fluff in a graham cracker crust and it's good to go! I've been known to use butterscotch pudding as part of the three ingredients and it's also a good taste!

  4. Hi Karen,
    Isn't this just so yummy! I made this recipe around Halloween. But I had to tweak it. You see the hubby is diabetic and to make it so he could also indulge I used Sugar Free Jello pudding and Sugar Free Cool Whip. That took it from 35 calories a serving, which isn't bad, to an even better 19 calories. I could not tell a difference in the taste or quality.
