Earbud Binder Clip Idea…

Hi everyone! You know I love a good binder clip. I use them on my wallet, as a key chain, all over my craft room and sometimes even as paper clips!

Well, I've been meaning to share another idea that I've been using forever…as an ear bud clip! Earbuds can be a jumbled mess of wire…all knotted up and frustrating as ever.

Here's my earbud set straight from my pocket. No knots or tangles.

It's also a bonus gym card holder!!

Come on in to see…

The little metal clip comes off easily when you pinch them.

Just slip on your gym member card.

Then clip it back on the clamp.

Just wind up your earbuds and clamp the binder clip on to keep them from unraveling.

I keep my gym card on my earbud clamp and not on my car key chain, because if I go with my husband and he drives, I don't always have my car keys with me. This way the clamp is always in my gym bag ready to go.

I've learned that music is the key to going to the gym. Fast paced music keeps me motivated on the treadmill. I am not a gym person. I'm not coordinated enough to take a class or do any type of dance aerobics. Walking very fast on the treadmill is perfect for me and these earbuds are my savior from boredom!

  1. I use several of these daily; I also use one "hack" to hold cords::: unclip the wire part and thread your cord (phone or tablet charger etc) thru and then clip the wire back; then use the binder clip to grab the edge of your shelf or table or charger stand. I use a small camera pouch to hold my phone at night while charging and this clips to the edge and keeps the cord from sliding away to parts unknown and scary!

We also use them in the car for seat belt easing---get your seat belt adjusted for you and then clip the binder clip onto it just at the edge of the seat belt tensioner by the door. For us shorter people this prevents the dreaded strangled by seatbelt for 500 miles syndrome.

We also use the cord trick in the car for the charger cords---clip to one of your vents or other handy spots and the cords will not be under your feet when needed.

You can also use these to HIDE cords---thread the cords thru and use the clip to either hang from push pins or just clip behind shelves etc. Use for a recipe holder in the kitchen---turn upside down for a card stand. Or hang from the cabinet knob! Place a magnet on them to hold things on the fridge; magnet board or other metal.

Oh and we use them every June for a motorcycle event--- we own a rare bike so we print our info and clip one of our cards and the ride invite info to each and every one of the same model bikes we find during the week to invite them to our event! Altho it is a bit of a no-no to touch another guys bike most of the guys we have connected with this way have been hugely thrilled to find our chrome clips dangling from their brake lines!

  2. Thanks for the tips. I've never used these clips for anything other than holding papers together. Now I can hang my rulers and organise my handbag.

  3. Who knew these little clips were so versatile. But I have to admit, you did give me another chuckle when I saw the pink tie wrap that just happened to match the pink plastic tote box!

  4. I love them, too. I don't carry a bag, or a wallet. A binder clip IS my wallet! It holds my cards and bills together and slips right into my back pocket.

  5. I use the small ones to hold my window shears closed in the summer time. I don't have curtains, just the shears, in my living room. It helps to cut the glare down when the sun is shining in the windows. They are so small, no one notices.

  6. These are all great ideas., I use one on my iron cord when I put it away, and to keep long appliance cord from getting tangled up behind entertainment centers.

  7. I also use the oversize ones to hold my backing and batting in place when I safety pin baste larger quilts on a big folding table. You snap them onto the edge of the table, it your backing isn't big enought to stretch across you can use masking tape to anchor two of the sides. Gotta love those clips.

  8. Karen you re the Queen of binder clip ideas!!!! I love the ear-bud one. Just this morning I was de-tangling my ear buds. I was using that Velcro that you can use to wrap around electrical cords to keeps them together, but they still seem to slip out of the Velcro. I am definitely going to get my binder clip out and give this a try! Thanks again for a great tip.

  12. Thanks so much for the great ideas you always seem to have. I also use binder clips regularly, but when I saw you use them to hold your rules, the light bulb came on. I put my stencils on a 6" ring and its a pain when I want to use, of course, the one in the middle and have to take them all off. So I grabbed about 6 clips and sorted the stencils by size and used one of the arms of the binder clips to put back on the ring and WOW now I can just grab and sort through the stencils so much easier. I will attempt to send you a picture. Thanks again, Sharon in Coooold Colorado

  13. Another great use would be for my iPhone and iPad charging cables. I also take them with me to swim meets or when we travel. My hubby and I have 4 i-devices between us, and those cables can become a huge jangled mess in no time!!
