Easy Breakfast Brunch Party Ideas...

We have lots of family functions and parties throughout the year, but I think the easiest party to put together would be a breakfast or a brunch. My husband's brother and his family were visiting from New York for 2 weeks. They rent a beach house to enjoy the sunshine and weather of the summer. We see them several times while they are here, but we did have them over one morning for breakfast before they went to the beach for the day.

I snapped a few photos of the breakfast I set up, so you could steal a few ideas for your next get together. The ideas are quick and easy and most can be set up the night before.

Self serve buffet style is the best. Here's what I served...

  • fresh fruit
  • coffee cake
  • muffins
  • breads, bagels and English muffins
  • jams and jellies
  • pancake bar
  • scrambled eggs
  • bacon and sausage
  • yogurts
  • coffee and tea
  • milks and juices

 The Bread Toasting Station...

Sour Cream Coffee cake I made the night before, muffin selection, different bagels and English muffins.

Set the bread goods near a cutting board so your guests can cut the bagels and muffins apart for toasting. Have toaster set up near there if possible. Jams, jellies, cream cheese and butter prepared in dishes the night before.

Don't forget cute little labels for all the jellies.

Pancake Bar

I usually have a pancake or waffle bar. This time I had pancakes! My "go to" batter is always Bisquick! I love how easy it is to mix and how light and fluffy the turn out.

Mix ins for the pancakes are bananas, blueberries or chocolate chips!

This is my seasoned griddle that I love...a must in my kitchen. I love griddles. You can make up to 8 regular size pancakes on this!

Don't forget a pretty pitcher of warm maple syrup and a sprinkle container of powdered sugar for your pancakes!

Breakfast Yummies...

Maple sausage links only take a few minutes in a fry pan and the pre-cooked bacon comes out perfectly every time in the fry pan too!

Scrambled Eggs...

The empty bowl in the foreground will be filled with cheesey scrambled eggs (forgot to snap a picture). Much easier to have all scrambled eggs rather than trying to cook individual orders of eggs.

We had yogurt too.

The white pitcher is filled with ice and has a selection of GoGurts (yogurt in a stick packet) for the kids, but you can also have a bowl of ice with mini yogurt cups for adults.

Fresh fruit is always a must for a breast brunch and summer is the perfect season for a great selection of fruit.

Drink Selection...

Don't forget drinks too! Orange and apple juice, milk and chocolate milk for the kids.

and a coffee and tea bar...

You can always add your favorites like a selection of mini cold cereal boxes and packets of hot cereal packets of oatmeal or cream of wheat.

Make your breakfast party your own, but make it simple so you can enjoy your guests too!!

  1. Your beakfast bar is a great idea. I especially like that most of the prep can be done ahead and that you are able to enjoy your guests instead of being a maid or a waiter! Thanks for sharing your photos!

    1. I love hosting brunch. It's pretty simple to setup and a lot can be done ahead of time. Yours looks delicious... I never thought about offering a choice of fruit or chocolate chips to the pancakes, I usually just make a batch and keep them warm in a basket with a stone bread warmer in the bottom. That's a definite for next time... thanks for sharing!

  6. I'm not so sure I'd call that simple, but it certainly looks tasty! I love the brunch/egg dishes you mix up the night before and bake in the oven too. I am sure everyone had a good breakfast!

  9. Is your griddle its own appliance or something that goes on top of your stove burners?

    Looks amazing, as always!
