Hi everyone!! It's Tuesday and you're probably wondering where I've been to find the latest "tool" of the day. Well, it was in the automotive section. I just love all the organizing things they have for cars and this is how I transformed one of them.
What is it? It's a cup holder!! What is it for me?...a sewing caddy!!
This is a different cup holder, because it's meant to slip in between the seats or next to your seat of the car for more storage.
Label says wedges between the seat of most cars, trucks and suv's.
Cup holders and spot for your cell phone...
The skinny bottom part wedges in the seats.
Lots of storage.
but not for your car on Tool Time. How about the chair you do your hand sewing or stitching in.
Wedges perfectly between the cushion and the arm of the chair.
This is perfect for a pincushion, spool of thread, eye glasses, scissors and all your hexagons for the quilt project you will never finish...oh, wait that's me!
You can make a pincushion to fit, but I had this apple pincushion already!
You can also move it from room to room...chair to couch.
See how it just slips in between the couch cushions?
If you don't sew, maybe a snack, drink and phone when you're reading.
and low and behold...it fits in the car too.
Great for those long trips. Keeps all your sewing, reading, crafting goodies all in one place.
This would be excellent for each child too. They could have their own for crayons, toys etc...
Have fun shopping in the automotive section. I found this one in Walmart for $5.00. If you're looking online, maybe type in "wedge cup holder".
Happy Tuesday,
~Karen~

ReplyDeleteOh, I love this idea! Just what I need to start my next hexagon project... Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteGreat find - and to think that I've been in WalMart at least 3 times this week and I DIDN'T find anything so clever. I guess it just takes a brilliant mind like yours to see them. :) Thanks so much. We'd be lost without you!
ReplyDeleteYou never let me down! This idea is one that I'll use if I can buy the cup holder in Australia. I also like your cork board idea and once again, you get in and make it... A pity about the spilt coffee on your materials. accidents happen. Take care. xo
ReplyDeleteThat is EXACTLY what I need. Thanks Karen. I had the need and now I have the solution, I sew on the couch allll the time. You are great.
ReplyDeleteAmazing, this is something I need that I didn't even know I needed! x
ReplyDeleteOH my gosh YES! For the sofa and those million little things that work their way down between the cushions - remotes, scissors, pencils, phones, Nintendo DS games and sticks, .....Thank you!
ReplyDeleteawesome idea...thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteThis is great....for its original purpose, but better yet for sewing! I have to make a trip to Wal-Mart today, so will head to that dept. also. Thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeletenifty idea.. but what caught my eye was "sell phone"....... cell phone?
ReplyDeleteHi Karen,
ReplyDeleteI don't know how you find the time to work outside the home, find all these nifty things to show us, AND blog! But you do it all, and you do it wonderfully. I love all of your ideas, especially Tool Time Tuesdays, and this one is so nifty. I think I can use it in my walker basket! If I drill/poke holes in the bottom "wedge", I think I can use zip ties to attach it to the the basket that way. Then I will have a cup holder, etc. I have a problem with carrying a cup of coffee or a can of soda with me because they tend to slosh around and/or fall over and make a mess. Thank you so much for this one. It will really help me.

Karen, I love your blog and read it almost every day. TTT is my favorite day but you really outdid yourself this week. I gotta have a couple of those cup holders! I do lots of sewing in the living room and DH sometimes gets a bit peeved with all my sewing stuff strewn all over the furniture. This way it will all be in one place and I can easily put it away when I'm done. Great idea and thanks for sharing it with us.
