You all know it's been one of my missions in life to eliminate the words "No Reply" from the blogging world... Lol
Blogging is about communication between people and an email address is the most important thing!
First, let me explain what a No Reply is...
If someone leaves a comment on any blog, that comment goes to the email inbox of the recipient. When the blogger tries to respond back to the comment, the return email address says "No Reply" which equals "no email address, which equals "no reply back" :(
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE check your profile. You may be a No Reply and not even know it.
Since Blogger changed their dashboard, I wanted to do a post on how to change that setting from the new configuration. If you are still using the OLD dashboard...Click HERE for the old tutorial
Here's the quick fix!!
Go to your dashboard, in the upper right hand corner, click the down arrow next to your picture, which is circled in the picture below.
The click "BLOGGER PROFILE"...
Then click EDIT PROFILE...
Then you will put a check mark in the box that says SHOW MY ADDRESS.
Scroll to the bottom and click SAVE...
That's it ladies...easy peasy.
With the new dashboard configuration, there have been many bloggers who were fine in the settings before, but somehow that box was unchecked and people never knew. I would double check just to make sure.
Have a great day,
~Karen~

I have been a 'no reply-er' without knowing :(
ReplyDeletethank you for this post!!!
I love your PSA's! And look!....it's already worked! lol
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting. You really give great directions for those of us who are computer challenged!
ReplyDeleteThanks for that post! I had no idea till you said something.
ReplyDeleteAcho que sou com resposta, mas sempre deixo meu email quando comento.Vou fazer um teste agora e ver.Obrigada.
ReplyDeleteGreat post. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI acutally had to go check, I am a reply person :) Thank you for your directions, it made it super easy for me to check :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the tip! I checked my Profile and sure enough, that box wasn't checked! I hate all the hidden changes Blogger has made! If it wasn't for great people like you who point them out, I would be sunk! Many thanks!!
ReplyDeleteAmen! Wonderful post, thank you!
ReplyDeleteAh dude! Thanks for this :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the post - I get quite a few comments with questions and then they are a "no reply" - it is very frustrating!! i think I will mention this tomorrow on my Post.
ReplyDeleteedgar
Thanks so much for the tutorial. Do you mind if I link to your post on my blog?
ReplyDeleteAlways great to see this. I am having another giveaway and each time I put no replies will be rejected and each time someone gets their entry dropped because of this. Stop by and visit and let others know for a chance to win some angel scissors:http://quiltingranny.blogspot.com/2012/07/angel-scissor-giveaway.html
ReplyDeleteWord Verification is also another default setting. I didn't even know it was on my blog until a blogger friend called it to my attention. You have to manually uncheck it.
ReplyDeleteLove this! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI hadn't encountered that in awhile, & now it's happening again more frequently. Also "Word Verification" drives me crazy. It's especially bad now that there are 2 different things you have to type and one is always blurry -- or maybe that's just my old eyes....lol!

YESSss! Nothing is more frustrating than not being able to reply, especially when someone has asked a direct question. Here is a link if permissible to my post "Enable Email Movement" and it also has links to other tutorials that may be helpful and clears up any concerns about privacy or spam issues.

ReplyDeleteThanks again!
Lisa
You go, girl! I agree... and thanks for helping all the bloggers out there!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info! Do you know of a site that answers other questions about blogger? I view my blogs in Google Reader and I'm having problems with my blogs showing up twice in two spots, plus other blogs showing up that I thought I had unsubscribed to. Thanks for any help you can give :)
ReplyDeleteOh my wow! Thank you so much for this! I'm one of the people who's boxes must have gotten unchecked with the change over to the new interface...and just like you said, I never knew it. Thank you thank you!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow...I actually found it! Great tutorial. AND my box was unchecked as well. Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I was a "no reply" person and had no clue! Ahhh! You're a life-saver!
ReplyDeleteQuestion: sometimes my photo shows and sometime it doesn't. I have the old google blooger and my dashboard doesn't show like your tutorial. I'm a good lady and have checked all the boxes. Thanks in advance for your help.
ReplyDeleteOk remember I'm old and don't follow written instructions very well. LOL Will you please respond and see if it works?
ReplyDeleteHugs,

I am having the same problem as Janice. This is what I see when I click contact info "Who can contact you
ReplyDeleteAllow people to send you a message from a link on your profile
Public
Allow people to email you from a link on your profile"
I checked them and saved them and I still have people saying I'm a no reply. Any suggestions? I was fine until the new dashboard, but my dashboard does not look like the one you have.
Thanks, missysaprons@gmail.com

Karen, Thanks for this instruction. I have a question: When I comment on someone's blog, sometimes they email me back and my original comment is there.
ReplyDeleteHow do I set up my blog so that I can email others back from their comments?
BethieLauren@gmail.com
Thanks for any help you can give.
Blessings, Beth

ReplyDeleteThank you, again!
Hi, I asked a question awhile back. Now I don't know how to search for it again and see if anyone answered it... I think I used the name Lulukay. It was about a sewing notion that causes gentle clinging to your skin so bras and stuff don't ride up. kfairbairn8@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen for the tutorial I am now able to get replies.
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen, being so new to the blogging community I had no idea at all.

Thanks for this great tutorial. I just found out I was a no reply blogger and was struggling to fix it until I remembered you had this on your side bar.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the heads up and your simple-to-follow tutorial, Karen!
ReplyDeleteAs most everyone else here, I didn´t even know...
Be good to yourself and hugs from Germany,
Bobbi

ReplyDeleteHi. Hope you don't mind me putting this question here? Could I ask you, how I can write a little thank you comment that shows after somebody has made a comment on my blog? Have searched but cannot find any help on this. Thanks. x
