When you were little, did you ever have a special thought, dream or wish about something? I know as children we all have many "wishes", but I remember and still think of one once in a while.
It's a street name that I always wanted to live on when I was little. Mind you, it wasn't even a street that was in the town where we lived...just a street that I thought would be cute to live on.
I always wanted to live on 2 Blueberry Lane...silly wish, but a child's wish none the less.
Just so darn cute!!
It will be funny if any of you live on Blueberry Lane and even better if it's 2 Blueberry Lane!!
How about you...any silly childhood wishes and did any one's wish come true??
Happy Thoughts on Thursday,
~Karen~

We have a Blueberry Lane in our neighborhood, one street over. There may even be a house for sale. It's in Alabama, though. :o)

ReplyDeleteI always wished I had a big brother. I'm adopted, and my adoptive parents gave me a little brother just 12 months and a day after they brought me home.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was 18 (the day I graduated from high school), I met my birth mother. A few weeks later I met my siblings -- a younger brother and sister, and an OLDER brother.
It was one of those wishes you never imagine would come true... but it did!

wow, what a nice story! TFS...<3
DeleteI always wanted a two storey house and to be able to call out to my Mum that I was upstairs doing my homework. I've never lived in a two storey house yet, and the days of homework are well past.
ReplyDeleteI always wanted to be a stewardess on an airplane. I thought it would so much fun traveling across the world. That didn't happen, but the life I have is better than anything I could have dreamed. So I don't mind so much not becoming a stewardess.
ReplyDeleteKristin, what a great story!
I always wanted to grow up and either be a jockey (you know and win the Kentucky Derby) I held that until I started to get too tall-ha!
ReplyDeleteA few years back when we were thinking of moving, we looked at a house on a Blueberry Lane. I really liked the house but I LOVED the idea of that being my address! :)
I always wanted a house with a split rail fence and horses. But the biggest wish was a window over my kitchen sink so I would watch the children I wished for playing outside. I never got the split rail fence or the horses, but I did get the best part, the kids! and I did have a window over the sink too !
ReplyDeleteWhen 9-1-1 went through in our county, my friend got to choose her address. She lives on "Attitude Alley" :)
ReplyDeleteI wanted to live on a farm and have lots and lots of white cats. I do live on a mini farm with lots of cats, but no white ones. It all acme about in my late 60's so I guess it takes a while, but some wishes come true.
ReplyDeleteI always wanted to live on a ranch and being born in Europe and living in the city, it was a pipe dream. Funny how God gives us the desires of our heart because here I sit! I got a cute cowboy in the deal too!
ReplyDeleteLove it!!! yee haw! :o)
DeleteSince I had 3 sisters, I always wanted a brother. Unfortunately it never happened. My sisters and I are very close, though, so now I don't feel like I missed out on anything.
ReplyDeleteI used to wish my name was Tina for some reason! I think because I was embarrased by my name because there were so few of us! I guess I thought Tina was more common!
ReplyDeleteI always wanted to be a Home Ec teacher. I thought they did the neatest things in class. It never happened, BUT I did end up being a teacher to my children in my home. Does that count???
ReplyDeleteOh, I had so many wishes. One that stands out though, is that I wanted my own little house in the back yard. Not a playhouse, one that was fully functional & I could live in while the rest of the family lived in the "big" house. I can still picture how colorful it would be with lots of glassware & other sparkly things!
ReplyDeleteAfter receiving a birthday card with a paper doll "Wilhelmina from Holland" when I was 4 or 5, I decided I wanted to be a little Dutch girl when I grew up. Fast forward to 1983, living in TX, when my DH asked if I wanted to move to Holland, Michigan for a new job. We moved and I became active in the community, especially Tulip Time every May. So I guess my wish came true - I'm a little Dutch girl! Oh, this part of West Michigan is a major blueberry growing area so I'm sure we've got lots of Blueberry Lanes.
ReplyDeletegreat story, Kris!
DeleteI always wished as a city girl that I could live in the country on a farm with my own chickens and grow my own vegetables and flowers. One time my middle son when he was little said to me, "when I grow up my wife and I will live with you and daddy in the country," it was his dream too! Fast forward and here we are at the end of a dirt road on Dogwood Lane raising chickens and flowers and my son and his family live down the lane. Sometimes dreams really do come true but it can take a lifetime! I just love the name of our road I think it sold me on the property by the way lol.
ReplyDeleteThis is an awesome dream come true

ReplyDeleteMy husband and I were just remembering our initial house search when we moved to Idaho. We were thrilled with "real" names on streets since we moved from the Seattle area where practically every street is numbered. We looked at an adorable house on "Blueberry Hill Rd." and were going to make an offer when it sold out from under us in a matter of days. That was 7 years ago and we still lament not getting to live there - what a great name!
ReplyDeleteAs a kid, I always dreamed I'd be married early and have lots of kids. Well, I married late and almost didn't have any kids! But God is good and gave me twins to help make up some lost time. :) And then there was an additional little surprise we were so blessed to have. I got my wish.
Growing up I always wanted to have a cottage as my home. I still love cottages and would like one but I would also like a home with a functional basement in. Here in the UK we have homes with cellars but most are small, accessable only via steep steps and usually damp and the first place to flood.
ReplyDeleteTo have a basement where I could have a utility room, sewing room and also a place for Mr B to hang out would be great.:o)

Among other dreams, I always wanted to live on a street with a beach-related name. My friend had a condo near the beach on Sandcastle Ln. How perfect is that? A few years ago we moved to White Sand Ct., and I love that. Next dream is to actually live at the beach (a warm Southern CA beach)...so close that my backyard is sand and I worry about the waves hitting my house. Who knows? Maybe it'll happen.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was little I would play that I was married to Scott Waldorf. I loved that name. I think he was a toilet paper king!!!!! I still laugh at that one!
ReplyDeleteI am just loving the stories!
ReplyDeleteMe too!!!
DeleteWhen I was little, I wanted a hot-pink VW Bug, with a white convertable top! Never got it...but so cute to think of that being my wish!
ReplyDeleteLike the first two comments, I wanted a brother and to live in a "step-house" (a house with stairs) but I also wanted to marry JohnBoy Walton. I loved how he called Elizabeth, "Honey," so maybe I just really wanted him to be my brother?
ReplyDeleteI always wanted siblings, but at 59, I'm still an only child. Since DH is one of 6, they've been my faux siblings for 30 years.
ReplyDeleteI grew up in apartments so I always wanted to live in a house; it just seemed more permanent. We moved over a dozen times when I was a child. DH and I bought our house in 1984,and even though it's not a palace, it's ours and I'm grateful every day.
I always wanted to live near a library. Now I am living near to one. That is a great dream come true.
