Appointments...we have them for doctors, car repairs, hair coloring (I actually have one today!!), but we never make an appointment to sew. Well, I have designated Saturday as my "appointment" to have fun.
I do have time in my week to sew, but blogging, emails, making things for posts, roaming through Pinterest all seem to take up my free "fun" time. I need to make a point to sit down and sew!!
So here's my solution..."I'm Having a Sew Sew Saturday!!!" Get it? I'm not having a so so Saturday...I'm having a sew sew Saturday!!
However, I don't want to do this alone! I want you to join me too. Saturday seems to be a good day and here's my thinking...
- I work during the week and week nights seem too short after dinner
- Saturday afternoons or Saturday evenings seem to be calmer than Saturday morning
- We can sew late into Saturday night and catch up on sleep somewhere on Sunday Lol
- Saturday is great for friends to join you too. Have a Sew Sew Saturday Party!
Here are the fabrics I have an appointment with this Saturday...
The lime and black floral is fabulous fabric I bought at Walmart!! Yes, Walmart. They have great decorator weight fabric. These are going to be pillows for my daughter Kelsie's room.
This fabric is actually curtains that my sister gave me. I am chopping them up to fit my windows. We'll see how this goes.
Matches my brown couch and love the red accent in the flowers!
I will show you pictures later today to show you that I kept my appointment!!
Don't miss your appointment either. There may be a "No Show" fee...Lol !!!
Have a great Saturday,
~Karen~
Great idea Karen, I may join you. I always intend to set aside time to sew, but something usually interferes with my schedule.

It's all about discipline and I missed out on that attribute. Sewing on a Saturday would work for me so I'll really try. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteKaren, I plan to do some Saturday Sewing, too. I just spent a little bit of time participating in Friday Night Sew In, sewing up a pillow case to donate to ConKerr Cancer.

I have a list of UFO's that I would like to finish. I have been trying to make Saturday's "sewing days", and then catch up on chores on Sunday.
Happy Stitching!

ReplyDeleteI made a purse out of that top black and green fabric that you got at walmart. It's held up really well.

I'm just about to put a post on my blog of the first two projects I've done in the last few hours. :o)
DeleteSounds like a plan! I might not get much sewing in today, though. It is Julia's birthday! How is it possible that I am the mother of an adult?
ReplyDeleteI plan to reorganize my sewing and quilting area today, so I might join you in sewing this evening! Need to get a move on and start organizing-
ReplyDeleteI saw that green fabric at Wal-Mart too. The price is a steal!! I think it would make cute roman shades....if I had a place to put them.
ReplyDeleteOh yes! I'm prepping for a quilt retreat I've organised next weekend so I've got plenty to do. Will update later! :-)
ReplyDeleteI just might join in tonight. I have a few cloth diapers I've been meaning to replace the elastic on, plus sew a few more liners for them as well. I'll make the effort to do so tonight. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm having a Sew Sew Saturday too! I'm off to a guild sewing day from 10am-9pm - WOW, that's a lot of sewing! o:) PS - love your fabrics!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea Karen! I would love a sew sew Saturday, but my two younger kids have us going in different directions with their activities all day on Saturdays this time of year! I get my sewing blocks if time usually on Sundays after church and breakfast and also during the week when the kids are in school. You come up with such creative ways to include all of us in your activities!

I would "sew" like to join you! Unfortunately, today is packed with testing for bigger boys, and birthday celebration for one little girl (w/Gpa & Gma). I will sure try to make it in next week!! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, and thanks for the tip about decorator fabrics at Walmart. I'll check there before starting the next project I've got in my head I need to do. ;)
I am definitely planning to have a sew, sew Saturday, too (with a break in the middle to go to a 1st communion). I am planning to cut out and sew a dress for my great niece.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! I just wish I wasn't going to be out of town all day Saturday. In fact most Saturdays I'm out of town. But I wish you the best. My stupid Walmart got rid of their fabric section. :(
ReplyDeleteI am planning on joining you! My Saturdays are usually sew,sew as between work, commute, household chores/dinner, errands, blog reading/emails, there is little time in the week, Saturday afternoon and after works! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI am planning to join you. I made a muslin of a dress for myself yesterday, and see a few places I want to change up the pattern. So I'm gonna redraw the pattern and get it cut out today. I don't think I will get it all done in one day, though. I love the fabric you are going to be working with:)

ReplyDeleteI will be having a sew Saturday later this afternoon. I'm cleaning closets right now, boo, yucky.... looking forward to sewing.
ReplyDeleteSounds like great fun! I am in, as long as I'm not traveling for work or pleasure. Even then, sometimes I will take a long a small hand-sewing project.
ReplyDeletePásalo bien y disfruta.

I'm joining you too. I sewed last night but I spent most of it helping my youngest daughter sew on her project. I've got the sewing itch, though. My hubby is working on my car so I'm a captive in my studio. Yay! I plan to sew most of the evening.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to join you but it didn't work out. Hopefully I will get some sewing done tomorrow. Can't wait to see yours!
ReplyDeleteI had designated Saturday as a shopping day for mental health reasons, but shopping at Joann's led me to fabric for sewing tonight so I am IN!! Thanks for hosting.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! and catchy phrase. LOL
