Still have the wrapping to do (that's tonight's job....after doing the weekly shop at the supermarket!) and still have the house to blitz and make ready for my in-laws Christmas Eve visit as they'll be staying with us this year so not a hair should be out of place.....it's going to be a long 2 days! It will all be worth eat on Saturday night when we're eating our feast (that I'll be preparing all day...) and having one or three glasses of wine! :)
I have to finish a customer quilt tonight, then I can start wrapping. Yes I said Start~ I know I hope I can get it all done. I need that AHHHHHH moment.
Alas, I thought the "Ahhh" moment was here until yesterday afternoon. My Grandma decided to send a check for me to get Christmas gifts for my kids. Ugh. More shopping.
Funny -- this year we are a bit short of finances, and it took me significantly longer to get all my shopping done (8 small $1-ish Hanukkah gifts per family member except 3mo baby). But we've been blessed in that others have unexpectedly (without knowing our financial crunch) given us gifts for the kids.
I haven't even started wrapping and we have our gift opening tomorrow night! A number of years ago, (to avoid people having to go to 3 or 4 places on the same day), we started having a special Christmas Eve Eve evening meal and then open the gifts early the net morning. It's always fun and relaxing.
Because there are now grandkids and multiple in-laws, we've started to include the gifts into the night time tradition. Even though I have to be ready a day before now, it sure makes the actual holiday relaxing!
Everything was fine and moving along right on schedule until this morning the door for my oven broken and I have six loaves of Stolen (gifts for my neighbors) waiting to bake!!! Panic until a local appliance repairman came to the rescue. I love living in a small town.
lol it's not done yet. But I am resting. ;) Got all the stuff out to thaw so I can get some of my Christmas cooking done a little early and wont have to do it all on the same day. MERRY CHRISTMAS to you!!!!

NO wrapping here! Last year I started making cloth bags with ribbon to tie them up.I found some not so nice Christmas fabric. Perfect for bags.
