A Comment on Comments...

I Got The Guilts...

I know it should be I "Have" the Guilts, but it sounds better with the 2 "Gs"...Got and Guilt! I digress...

Sew Many Ways is just my little blog where I love to share all my thoughts and ideas about crafting, sewing, recycling, organizing and turning uncommon items into something cute for your home.

I want to say a GREAT BIG thank you to each and every person who has stopped by, even for just a moment, to read something I've posted. Some leave comments, some just stop by and some even email me personally. I read every single comment and email that you send and love them all.

Here's where the guilt comes in :(

I try so hard to respond to all the comments and email. I get up early and send a few before I go to work, then I do a few more when I come home, but then life gets in the way and I never seem to finish that day's comments. Then I do another post the next day and more comments and emails come in.

PLEASE keep leaving comments, I absolutely LOVE reading them. However, please forgive me if I don't get to it right away or lose track all together.

I'm still trying to go back and find some emails that have specific questions. I've also noticed that a lot of comments are set to No Reply or if you are Anonymous (which is fine), but both of those have no email address attached to the comment, so I can't reply back. If you have a question, just leave your email address in the comment.

I hope you all know I love blogging and sharing everything with all of you, but still love me if I don't reply right away...or in a little bit...or at all, Lol!!!  Ahhh, the guilt...lol

Ok, please leave a comment on this comment post, so I know you're still with me...this was a boring post! lol
~Karen~

  1. After reading this I think I would still not comment your posts to give you more time for other things. But I will stop by as usual :)

  2. lol :D Don't worry so much. Interact as you can. Most everybody here understands about busy life and limited time for answering lists of comments. It's really OK if it takes a while to get to something, or even if you never do. It's really OK if folks miss a day putting up a post on their blog. No apologies necessary, and folks won't stop loving you. ;D

  3. Don't worry - we ALL have 'comment-response-guilt' at times, and so we ALL know how hard it is to keep up.
Some weeks life is just too busy.

My wonderful SIL is coming to visit [first time for 2 years] - so I had better get back to cleaning off the limescale from the bathtaps with an old toothbrush!! This excuses ME from comment duty today I think!
    weekend blessings x x

  5. Okay, girl, here's where you :D Drop the Guilt!! Most of you who share the most with us work jobs, have families, have a life on the other side of this computer screen. You are doing fabulous---sharing your time and energy and ideas with us all. No worries, girlfriend! We are grateful. :)

  6. Comment. Comment. Comment. ; ) Made it all the way to the end. Life gets in the way sometimes, and it gets hard to get back to people. I was behind on blogging for several months. I FINALLY got caught up. We'll see how long that lasts. The best you can do is to try.

  7. Stop feeling guilty. I am one of those people that comment because I really like something and so that you know that you have people reading so you will keep up the great work. I don't comment to get a resonse unless I specifically have asked a question. I think you respond to questions and to those comments that you feel like responding to and don't worry about everyone of them. We keep coming back because of the great content.

Now don't reply to this comment! :)

  8. Hi Karen - no need to feel guilty - thanks for doing the blog! I don't get that many comments so it's easy for me to reply - LOLOL! (Although I feel guilty when I can't reply to a "no reply" commenter - isn't that silly?!) *I* feel guilty about not posting on my blog enough. We all have something! Keep on posting!

    ReplyDelete
  9. Absolutely I'm still with ya'!! I would rather you keep coming up with all the wonderful ideas you share than comment on each comment...know what I mean? I LOVE YOUR BLOG!!

    ReplyDelete
  10. Or then there are people (no names being mentioned) who are older, who can't remember who they responded to ... so they end up responding twice ... or not at all, just to be safe :)

Keep on bloggin', we'll keep reading!

  11. I'm with everyone else thus far, keep posting, because I sure like reading and forwarding your ideas on.

  12. I am a horrible blogger and don't reply to every comment I get ... I just don't have the time! I feel guilty about it too, but I need to learn to let go of that! I would never stop reading someone's blog just because they didn't answer my comment... life is too short to worry about things like that! :)

  13. No guilt please! I understand completely. Only so many hours to the day.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Yep, still here, and completely understand how busy you can be when you have to work. Me, completely bored!!! I cannot sew right now due to thumb problems.. oh how I hope they resolve quickly so I can get back to work!!! aka FUN.

  15. Of course we are here karen!!!!! I guess the same is happening to me and other people. WE JUST LOVE BLOGGING so much that after a while we find ourselves spending more time on the computer than DOING crafts. We have to set limits, I do read all posts and comments, but lately I just comment once in a while here and there. I just cannot find the time to get to comment on all blogs I read.
BUT I LOVE your posts!!!!! There is always something new, creative or entertaining for me to read and I enjoy it very much. THANKS!!

  16. I'm always happy when I see you've responded, but Karen, you are the one who helped me start my blog, and I've been following you way back when you only had 150 followers (have you seen that number you're up to now? Sheesh, girl, give yourself a break if you do NOT respond every time!).
You still are one of my most recommended blogs to friends, since not all of them quilt, but for the most part we all like style and organization.
Oh, and I do commit the sin of coveting every time I think of you sewing/creating room, sigh ~
    :-}pokey

  17. Oh Karen.....don't feel badly. Comments are just that......no response necessary. I would email you if I had a question. You're supposed to enjoy your blog, not feel obligated to it! We all enjoy it or we wouldn't be here :-) Love what you do.....

    ReplyDelete
  18. I think blogger should add a setting called "No Reply Necessary" for comments! That would relieve a lot of the guilt we feel when we just don't have the time to respond to every comment! But you shouldn't feel bad since most of us understand. Just keep doing what you're doing and we'll keep enjoying it! Have a great weekend.

  19. Your posts are the reason we check in.You dont have to reply to every comment...No guilt!Just keep posting :)

    ReplyDelete
  20. For me- posting would be more than I could keep up with. Just reading your posts is what I stop by for. Don't worry so much. We all have a life and most of us understand!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Oh, please never feel obligated to reply. I visit here everyday. I don't comment often, but I am here everyday. I just don't have time to always comment. There are only 6 blogs that I check daily. I have a cup'a'coffee, check my email, and check out those 6 blogs every morning. I appreciate your work in your blog and would never expect a reply.
If you spend your time stressing over your blog, you will start to not like it. It will feel like work and not fun. I don't want that to happen. I know other people that got "burned out" from the stress of their blogs and stopped blogging or cut back on blogging because of that. I would rather never get a reply from you than to let that happen to you. Just keep posing and having FUN with it. DON'T stress so much!!! It is a hobby and meant to be fun. Not a job.

  22. I wish there was an easier way to send comments to the comments that are posted on our blogs - if there is I haven't found it! But, I'm still here and will be for the long haul. Who wouldn't stay at a blog that offers so much!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Love your blog. Not worried about a response. Really. Just do what you can, and the rest will work itself out. LOL...

    ReplyDelete
  24. NO GUILTS!! You provide so many useful and creative ideas. I'm just so happy that you blog. THANK YOU!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. There is no need to be guilty. Blogging is about fun and talking about what you are passionate about. Commenting is just our way to say thanks...I never expect a "thank you for a thank you note", so don't worry, please. If someone asks a question, then I answer. If you can't keep up that means you must have a lot of fans and that it good. Keep doing what you are doing. I learn a lot from your blog!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Please don't feel guilty. I comment because I want to say thank you for all you do for us. Hardly ever does someone comment on my blog even though I have thousands of hits. I am taking that as my thank you to keep going. It feeds us, and that is what we want to do for you, because you feed us with your ideas and motivation. We want you to keep feeding us, and that is why we comment, not to get thank yous for our thank yous. So relax and bask in the appreciation.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I wish I had the time that the people who expect an acknowledgement for their comment waste checking to see if you did. I LOVE your blogs and have picked up some handy tips and had quite a few chuckles. You've already thanked us for commenting, so is there a need to do more? If I have a question, I'll send an e-mail. Just promise us that your next blog won't be "Commenting on the comments left for 'A Comment on Comments'" Pretty silly, eh?
Keep doing what you're doing and we'll keep reading!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Hey, don't worry about replying to comments. I don't write comments because I expect a reply.

Anyway, you've already done your part - you write the blog!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Not to worry...I love your posts and am not going anywhere!

    ReplyDelete
  30. I can't believe you do all you do and work too....amazing!!!

    ReplyDelete
  31. aw - no worries - As a reader of 150+ blogs, I try to comment once or twice a day, and I probably don't hit every blog even in a month. I feel kinda guilty about that, but I don't take the time to keep track of who I did/didn't comment to. AND - i totally don't expect replies to my comments! I'm tickled when I do get one, but it is not expected. THANK YOU for your blog and all of your inspiration!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Damn sugar! Never mind reacting to comments from me. (that's one less for you!) Although I'm jealous of how many people visit your blog and leave comments, I don't think anyone would be mad at you for not replaying. I often wonder where you find the time to blog at all!!!
Get rid of that guild and just do what you do. I'll still stop by.
    Love, Bianca

  33. Don't, please don't.... worry about getting back to us Lovers of Karen. We don't care... we just want to keep on reading your blog. It is one highlight of my day. Thanks for all you share with us.

  35. Your posts ALWAYS have something to ponder over, something to remember, most often something to grin about. I first discovered blogland through your blog - got it from a quilt magazine. Every day I'm online Following - and every day I start with Sew Many Ways.

  36. Of course I will keep on reading your blog, but now I feel guilty for leaving a comment, so don't reply, lol

  37. I appreciate all of the comments on my blog, too, but do not respond to them. Like you, I read them all and am always thrilled to see what people have to say. Please don't apologize!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I can relate, I think, although I don't get many comments on my blog so it has been fairly easy to keep up. It is thrilling when I get an email from you...no pressure though, it is really fun... thanks for your blog and keep up the good work. Have a great weekend.

  39. Don't feel guilty...we all understand about "life" ...sometimes it just gets to busy, and you can only do so much..
I love popping over to visit..not always leaving a comment..
    Have a great weekend.

  40. I think the comments from your beautiful craft room post should come first. lol I clicked the follow up a long time ago and see when ever people comment on it and it seems to be a lot. lol but I dont follow up on every post and I cant imagine if I did. lol I think if you are trying then if should be fine for all. :)

  41. Love you just the way you are. I want to know what planet you are from. Which planet is it that has 36 hour days. The stuff you do must need days that long.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Love the blog... drop the guilt...
I am definitely still with you!
Life is too short to sweat the small stuff:)

  43. I'm still with you. :) I love your blog so keep it up!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Love your blog, would rather be able to hear more from you on it that be worried about you replying!! Keep it up!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Most of the time I comment on posts to let the writer know that I love the project or whatever the post was about. I don't "expect" a response, life is busy, you should be out living it when you can (: No upset-ness here ;)

    ReplyDelete
  46. I have Reverse Comment Guilt! Meaning I feel guilty because I don't hardly ever comment on any blog that I follow. I learn so much and get an extreme amount of inspiration from all the hard work that bloggers do. I love your blog and truly appreciate you! However, I do pin a lot and feel that promotes blogs and lets others see your great ideas, hopefully gaining you new followers. I follow blogs by email and therefor comment as Anonymous, don't know how to do Name/URL. Should have a Don't Expect A Reply identity !

  47. Don't feel guilty, blogging is like a second job and time is not strechable !! Comment or not comment I enjoy your blog ! And that was just a little hello from France ;o) !

    ReplyDelete
  48. I read each new post, don't always comment though.

  49. Hi Karen,
I'll love to leave more often a
comment but it is quite difficult
for me as I am French. Promise, I'
ll try ! Please correct me if I make a "big" mistake with my scholar English.
    Have a nice sunday,

  52. CindyW.
You are amazing, stop feeling the guilts for non replying to all. I wish I could comment on more blogs, but not all bloggers have "anonymous". I am a non-blogger and "blogger" won't let me leave a comment without being a blogger, it keeps prompting my to join up to continue with any comment I try and post.
I don't want to be a blogger, I can understand the no time thing, I just want to enyoy all the wonderful information that you wonderful bloggers share "FREELY" with us very lucky readers.
Just keep on keeping on. :o)

  53. I get your blog as an RSS feed onto my Yahoo home page so I read every topic you post. I love your ideas and I rarely read the comments section or post in it--just know that I am here every day and love what you write.

Keep up this amazing blog & do what you can, when you can. I mean, you have a life outside of this blog & everyone will understand. <3

  57. I don't always comment, but I love reading your blog. Don't apologize. You do a great job with your blog. Cindy

  58. I feel exactly the same way!!! I barely have time to post on my blog before work, LIFE... and I find it hard to reply. Please know that your blog is wonderful, your personality shines through and THAT is why I read/follow it! no guilt!!

    ReplyDelete
  59. No Worries. I am still here. I love the blog and all the ideas. Plz keep them coming. They have so inspired my new sewing room. Will post some pictures soon!

    ReplyDelete
  60. I'm so happy to read that I'm not the only one who is full of guilt for the same reason!!

That is the reason why , even thought , I follow your blog for years, I barely leave comments, is my lack of time, plus I use to read the blogs during my break time at work using my Blackberry and the keyboard is to small for my speedy fingers.

I enjoy reading your blog, is one of my preferred ones :)

    ReplyDelete
  61. O heck. I'm here. Don't get the guilts. Too many bloggers cease because the responses get too overwelming for them.

    Its all good here!
    Happy Sunday

  62. Reply or not I love reading what you share. I don't always comment but I always read.
Thanks for all your ideas, tips etc.

  63. I never post since I read everything by email. But you asked for psots, so here I am. :-)

  64. I read your blog almost every day. I very seldom comment though, but seldome comment on any blog I read. I never expect any return from you bloggers because I figure you are busy enough blogging and having a real life. No reply is ever necessary, unless a question is ask of you. Just my thoughts .

    ReplyDelete
  65. Funny you feel guilty if you don't find the time to comment on comments and I feel guilty at times that I take the time to read your blog but don't always take the time to comment. No need for worries or guilt I think we all understand. At least I do. Now I don't feel so guilty. Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  66. Let's make a deal...You don't feel guilty for not responding to all your comment and I won't feel guilty for not commenting as often as I would like to your blog and to all the other blogs I love to read. =)

No need to comment to this comment, either. I do not personalize it when bloggers don't have time to respond. =D

    ReplyDelete
  67. Karen dont feel guilty. You have become so popular that you will probably never be able to get to all the posts ever again. THIS IS A GOOD THING! Sorry for yelling, but I wanted to get that across. I read your posts every week (usually several times a week). And I read the comments cuz posters have a lot of good ideas as well. Keep up the blogging. Love ya, Debbie

    ReplyDelete
  68. I don't think you should feel guilty. When I leave a comment that's all it is - a comment. I don't expect a response unless I ask a question or request a response. You have enough on your plate!

    ReplyDelete
  69. Do you really want all 3434 followers to comment on your post today?!! lol lol
Don't worry. If anyone leaves your site or gets miffed that you haven't responded or posted for a day really needs to get over it... (this said in a nice way)
What you write you write as a gift to others and should be accepted as such!
Now free up your guilt meter for something more important like forgetting to call your daughter on her 21st birthday like I did!
