Here are some of the bags I have and how I've used them...I bought them all at Michael's Craft store at different times, but I know they still have them.
You can use them for so many things...come on in and see.
I lined the back of my workbench with all the small ones.
These bags are perfect to separate all kinds of crafting, sewing or household items.
If you are storing top heavy things, you may have to add a can or something inside to weigh it down.
I just love all the different prints and patterns in black and white!!
The larger bags can be used for just about anything.
I store mine under my table, but you can also hang them in a closet, on hooks on the wall or just place them on a shelf.
One bag is for all my burlap fabric. Keeps it separated, because that stuff sheds! Lol
Another bag holds embroidery hoops and wreath forms. Those are always awkward to store, so the bags are great to corral them.
This bag has all my mending projects just waiting for me to get me act together. Sorry mending bag, I'm not a big an of you, but you are cute.
This medium size bag is tucked in the corner and holds all my rolls of wrapping paper!
These are definitely top heavy, so I used a not so pretty wire garbage bin for support.
These bags can be used for everything...
- blankets/bedding
- sheets
- shoes
- kitchen pantry items
- fabric
- separating sizes of scrap fabric
- separate ongoing sewing or quilt projects
- sewing patterns
- books
- magazines
- kid's toys or games
- sports equipment
- car trunk storage
- baby items
- out of season clothing
- hide those not so cute cat or dog food bags

I thought I was the only "bag lady". I am so glad to discover that I finally had a good idea for storage. All along I worried that I just had to much stuff for my closets. Oh yeah my 1912 house didn't come with those new fangled closets.
ReplyDeletei've been using them as gift bags for quilts--i buy them at Marshall's for 99cents each (lately, the patterns haven't been as pretty though--hopefully that will change) which is much cheaper than the large paper gift bags at regular stores like target (i tend to give big quilts as gift)--plus the recipient gets a handy, reusable bag along with the quilt.

ReplyDeleteOne year I bought the Target Christmas bags and used them for Christmas gifts. They were inexpensive, and reusable. Love the bags!! I guess we are all just a bunch of bag ladies :-)
ReplyDeleteNow I feel vindicated! I have used these in perky colors and prints for a few years for gift wrap, quilt carriers, storage and organizing. I really like the idea of using a waste basket as a sort of liner to stabilize the bag. I have them in every car with 'emergency' supplies (elderly and children) and the items stay nice and orderly. I call them GO bags when going to quilt classes and work shops. Your ideas just give me more ideas, thank you. Think Spring!

ReplyDeleteThis would be a great idea for storing sheets in my bathroom closet. I can get these at Michaels, JoAnn Fabrics, TJ Maxx, and Burlington Coat Factory.
ReplyDeleteI have a horrible bag problem, and I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who can't resist a cute bag. I use them for WIPs and storage too. i love to be able to pick up a bag and have everything in it that I'll need for a project! Your room is beautiful and definitely better shape than mine.
