Car Visor First Aid Kit...

I think we've all had a cd organizer in one car or another. I don't use cd's in my car anymore (all the music is on my phone now), but for some reason I still have the organizers. I think it's the "I think I can use this for something else" in me.

Guess what…I did use it for something else.

A visor first aid kit…

This idea might NOT work for everyone...

IF YOU HAVE KIDS IN THE CAR...If you have little ones in the car,  I WOULD NOT have medicines where they can reach them.

IF YOU LIVE IN AN AREA WITH EXTREME TEMPERATURES...that's not good for the medicines either.

This is just an idea for you to use the cd organizer and cater it to your own needs.

Come on in and see…

Here's the cd organizer that I will use.

There are different styles and pockets to fill up with all sorts of things.

Here's what's in mine.

Roll on bug bite pen and a pair of scissors.

The scissors have a cover for safety reasons.

In the pocket, I keep a little antibiotic ointment. Great for cuts and scrapes.

In the pockets where a cd would go, I used little labeled coin envelopes to hold single doses of meds. Just a couple of pills in each for emergency reasons.

You can use any size envelope or even clear baggies. Just make sure you label them.

**I wouldn't put any prescription type meds in here, just over the counter headache or stomach meds.

Band-aids, in different sizes, are a must!

Foil packed cough drops are easy to slide in there too and a little chap stick for your lips.

The back of the case usually has straps to slip onto the visor.

Just slide it on…

and fold it up and out of the way.

I did add one more emergency item.

A protein bar for a power packed day of thrift store shopping! lol

Again, PLEASE NO MEDS WITH CHILDREN IN THE CAR!!

Hope this idea will work for you too!

My next version of this will be for hand sewing in the car on long trips!!

Thanks for stopping by,

  1. Oh my gosh did you inspire me. Thank you. I love this organizational idea for cars, but you also generated idea for how to carry this over to "luggage" travel and more. I definitely want to do this for my car and see how far I can carry it forward. EXCELLENT! Thank you.

  2. I love this idea ...but due to the extreme heat build-up in a car, some of these things might develop problems.
The band-aid's glue will go all gooey, so by the time you want to use it, it will stick everywhere but the wound. Also, medicines are to be kept in cool, dry areas, so the antibiotic salve will not be active anymore, which goes for all the meds in the little envelopes.
The lip-salve will melt, and that protein bar will be slush when you want to eat it.
But I still like your idea ....maybe just revise what I put in it.

  3. That is a great idea for re-using the CD holder! In our temperate UK we wouldn't have the same heat problems, and this looks much neater than the plastic bag of 'stuff' that is wrangled into our glove compartment!
