Must Have Tools For Christmas Decorating...

Hi everyone! I'm in full mode Christmas and wanted to share my favorite things I use when decorating of the holidays.

When you're decorating the tree, hanging wreaths, wrapping evergreen garland around your front porch or just adding that special touch to your home, you need a few essentials to help along the way.

If you have these things with you as you're roaming around the house decorating, it will help to keep you organized and make your life easier.

Come on in and see my favorites…

I love velcro ties. The red tie is just one of many sizes. You can get them in the hardware store in the cable section.

The green roll is from the garden section and is used to tie up plants. I use it to tie evergreen to railings or banisters. The green is perfect to blend in and won't damage the wood surface.

Different sized zip ties are essentials too…

  • add one to the back of a wreath for a hanger
  • zip tie a bow you've made
  • attach the garland to anywhere

Wire is my favorite. I make bows with this, hang everything with it, fix drooping branches of the trees by wiring it up to the next branch etc.

Hammer and scissors are everyday tools to have, but the clippers are great for cutting fresh evergreen or branches in the yard.

The must have is the apron. I have to wear an apron when decorating. I constantly lose everything under mountains of Christmas things if I'm not wearing it.

My other favorite decorating must have are 3 m hooks. You can hang things anywhere in your home without having to hammer a nail in the wall and you can easily remove the hooks when you'd done.

If you have any decorating tips, hope you can share them in the comments!!

Thanks for stopping by,

  1. I bought one of those receptacles that have a light socket and a plug-in. It just screws into the outdoor light socket. This is where we plug in our Christmas lights. The outdoor light is wired into the switch that's located right beside our bed. Now when we forget to shut the Christmas lights off, we just reach over and hit the bedside switch! Lights out!

  4. Gravevine reindeer and spotlights are my choice for outdoor decorating. But in strong winds the reindeer fall over or can actually been tossed around. So, I attached a zip tie to each leg of the reindeer (near the bottom) and then I brace them by using wire hangers (the kind from a dry cleaners). I cut the hangers in long pieces and bend them into a "U" shape. I then place one of the ends of the hanger piece through the zip tie and push them into the ground. They hold the reindeer perfectly, especially once the ground freezes and holds them firmly. Cheap and effective.

  6. Great reminders! I love wearing aprons in the kitchen, but never thought about it for my 'tools'! My hubby is a big fan of putting our lights on little remote controls. So much easier than trying to fish around behind things to plug them in.
