Thrifty Thursday...Glue Gun Trick

Hi everyone! It's Thrifty Thursday today!! I have a little trick with a glue gun to replace rubber feet on the bottom of something...let me show you in pictures.

I have a small table top ironing board next to my machine. It was my mom's and it's old...

Here is the ironing board turned over. Two feet were missing on the middle and bottom left side. They are folding metal feet, so they scratched the table every time I tired to move it.

The left circled leg is missing...the right circle is the original rubberized foot.

Glue gun to the rescue.

Just blob it on until the desired thickness.

Tah Dah!!!

No more scratches on my table.

Quick, easy, free and I can use the ironing board again!!

You could use this trick for anything big or small.

If something wobbles...add a little extra glue to balance it out or if something hitting into something else...add a little hot glue to act as a bumper.

Hope this comes in handy!

Have a great Thursday,
~Karen~

  5. Good Morning Karen, What a fabulous tip. I am now the proud owner of a glue gun... I know that sounds strange, as everyone has owned one for years, but they are expensive and I was not sure what I would use it for, but now that I have one, the list is endless.

    Have a lovely weekend.

  21. Karen, your tips never cease to amaze me. The most simplest things but yet so useful and those things I say to "Duh, why didn't I think of that!" I'm with Speedy: sunshine in an above comment...I think I'm going to see how a bit of glue works on the bottom of my machine foot pedal to keep it from moving all around so I'm not spending all my time looking down trying to find it...lol. Keep the brilliant ideas coming!

  23. FYI, I've seen those little rubber feet at Lowe's and Home Depot - they sell them to cover the wire closet edges when they cut them to the desired size. Just in case the hot glue comes off...and you need another idea.
