Fabric Hoops Wall Decor...

Hi everyone! Today, I want to share a project with you that I saw on Pinterest. It was from the site Purl Bee. It uses wooden embroidery hoops for wall decor. When I first saw the idea, I already had some older hoops that I had been collecting and some from my mom, but the hunt was on. Every time I saw hoops in yard sales, thrift store or consignment shops I bought them!! They were inexpensive too...50 cents to $3.00 and some were $5.00 for a bag of them.

Here's the wall in my sewing room with all the hoops made with fabric I already had!!

You can make these too. They are very easy and fast to make up. Let me show you the quick steps...

First, you need to collect the hoops in many different sizes.

 If you're new to using embroidery hoops...take your hoop

Loosen the screw at the top and separate the 2 parts.

Place the ring, without the screw, down first.

Then cover with your fabric.

Place the hoop with the screw over the fabric and squeeze onto lower ring.

Tighten the screw.

Pull fabric evenly all the way around until it's tight. You may have to tighten the screw a little more.

Trim fabric all the way around the hoop.

Glue the raw edges to the back of the hoop. I used a hot glue gun (low temp glue is best for your fingers)

All done!!

Arrange them on the wall with different sizes mixed all over and hang with a small tack nail. Uses different fabrics too...mix up styles and prints.

The boxes on the floor are old drawers from our kitchen renovation...they hold my Tool Time Tuesday projects "to be".

This is a pieces of peg board I framed to hang all my quilting rulers. I never did a post on it, but it will be similar to the framing of the chalkboard.

Just find a great frame and have the peg board cut to size. Hardware stores will cut it for free.

I hung all the hoops in the higher section of the wall, because I'm a shorty and I wouldn't hang a peg board or cork board that high.

They really add dimension and design to an unused section of that wall!
