To All Google Plus Users...How to Change Your Email Setting

Hello to all my friends out there!! I hope you're having a great week so far. I've notice lately there has been an increase of Google Plus users in the comment section. I know not everyone is using Google Plus, but in my comment sections, there are plenty and I love it. I myself, am not using Google Plus (or Google +), but love the comments that I receive.

I know other bloggers have noticed that 99.99% of Google Plus users do not have their email address showing when they comment, so there is no way to reply. I have had frequent conversations lately with several bloggers who do use Google +, but have been so frustrated not knowing how to add their email address to their account.

Well, I received a comment from my new friend Kristy from the blog Shona Skye Creations and she used her Google + account and her email address was showing in the comment!!! After many emails back and forth with her, she sent me all the steps and screen shots to change your settings in Google Plus.

If you are using this new feature and WANT your email address to show up , see the steps that Kristy shares below. Thank You so much Kristy for doing this and for letting me share it with everyone. Big HUGS from me!!

Here are the steps that Kristy sent...

  • From Blogger, click on your profile pic in the upper right-hand corner and select "View Profile."
  • That will open your Google+ page. Click on "Edit Profile."
  • In the Profile Edit box that opens, click on "Change Contact Settings."
  • In that box, make sure that "Allow People to Email You from a Link on your Profile" is checked and set it to Public, or at the very least, Extended Circles.
  • Then click "Save."
  • Then click "Done Editing."

Here are the screen shots for visual help...

I hope this is helpful for all of you who are using Google Plus and want the communication back and forth.

Visit Kristy's Google Plus to see all the things she has added...link to her Pinterest account, Facebook, Twitter and her blog. It's the complete package, if you are contemplating using Google plus for your complete profile.

Thank you again Kristy...this was very helpful!

Have a great day,
~Karen~

  1. Great post. I want to do this. Question: I thought you were going to truncate your blog. Is there a reason you are not doing this?

  2. Thank you for sharing this. It must be a new feature from so many people complaining about it! I even unlinked my Blogger from my Google+ because I didn't want to be a no-reply blogger. This is the first time I have seen this option when editing my profile. Thanks for sharing. :)

  5. I have read a few posts lately abut how to do this and have not been able to do it on my iPad but I THINK I have done it using my pc now. I would be grateful if you could check whether or not you can see my email and contact me. Then I will know whether or not it has worked. Thanks.

  10. Thank you for sharing this. There are so many people that enter giveaways and don't have their settings to allow them to be contacted and those that adopt the default G+ settings don't realize their comments on a blog leave them as a no reply blogger. Thanks for sharing insights on how the G+ users can change their settings.

  15. Thank you so much for posting this. I had switched back to my blogger profile, because I couldn't get my email to show up on Goggle+. I didn't even know it till I read that I had won a giveaway on a blog and they told me in their blog. :( So hopefully my email now shows up when I comment.

  18. YES!!! Thank YOU and thanks to Kristy for sharing this fix! I had switched back to my old Blogger profile because I gave up trying to find a way around the no-reply blogger hitch if you were a Google+ user. Problem is now solved thanks to this post and I'm back to my Google+ profile on Blogger. YAY!
