How To Add A Follow Me Pinterest Button...

Hi everyone...I've had so many email requests for blogging tips and tricks. I have lots in the works, but it takes some time to get the tutorials together.

This one is a quick tutorial on how to add a "Follow Me on Pinterest" button.

Here are the images for the sample buttons that Pinterest offers. You can always make your own, but that's a different post !! LOL

You will be going to YOUR Pinterest page to get these button, this is just a sample.

Picture tutorial on how to add the Pinterest button to the side bar of your blog...

Go to your OWN Pinterest dashboard...

  • go to "About"
  • then "Pin It Button"

Scroll down until you see the "Follow Button" section...

Click on which button you want for your side bar of your blog. When you click on the button you want,  an HTML code is next to that button. Right click or "Copy" that code.

Now go to your dashboard of your BLOG...and click on "LAYOUT"...

Click on ADD a GADGET...a pop up box appears

Then scroll to find...HTML/JAVA SCRIPT. Click that.

Another pop up box appears for the HTML code.

You can add a title to it if you want in that title box, something like..."Come on over and follow me on Pinterest too!! You don't need a title though.

Now in the large box, click in there and then "PASTE" the HTML code for that button you selected.

Here is the code in the box.

You must click SAVE on the bottom left of that box.

Any gadget you add to your blog is always entered at the top of your side bar. To move it, just click on it and move it or "drag" it where you want it on your side bar and click SAVE ARRANGEMENT up top.

Hope this helps.

Happy Blogging,
~Karen~

  2. If you're on Wordpress, once you get the code, go to Appearance -> Widgets and drop the code in a text widget dragged to the sidebar.

  12. I am having similar problems to raggygirlvintage. I've updated Pinterest, finally found the 'Goodies' page but when I paste the code, it doesn't show a Pinterest icon - just a link using my Pinterest name.

  14. My html code is not showing up in my blog? I added the html gadget and it's on the top right of my list, but it's just showing the title and not the profile widget I created??
