I have read it is toxic when ingested, and is only dangerous when there are damages to the surface (scratches, nicks, etc) that lead to pieces being pulled into the food. If intact, its safe. If I can't clean it right after I cook, I will preheat it again after, and just unplug it while I do the towel trick. The timer still counts down, so that is okay. It sure cleans up easiest when it is still hot.Sharihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08512041567698353591noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-444221130150558371.post-12090166093307203622014-03-17T12:56:26.313-04:002014-03-17T12:56:26.313-04:00Wow! Love to use it (so simple & fast) but hate to clean it! I have an ancient split lid grill and that thing is still a pain to use, even with the paper towel trick. Of course, it would help if I always remembered to use the paper towels . . . <br />I thought I'd just replace it with a newer model where the plates come out, but I can't find one as big as the one I have so I guess I'll just try to be better about remembering those darned paper towels. :DFrankiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06895662097262186866noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-444221130150558371.post-78377866363688912582014-03-17T09:44:41.500-04:002014-03-17T09:44:41.500-04:00This is such a great tip, Karen!
