Even my hubby liked it and he HATES oatmeal. :)Hamrsarkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04093101105588596812noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-444221130150558371.post-37859360268701138922013-12-31T14:05:33.318-05:002013-12-31T14:05:33.318-05:00Where do GROATS fall on the scale of things?Where do GROATS fall on the scale of things?Hamrsarkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04093101105588596812noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-444221130150558371.post-62146937184649868202013-09-17T20:04:58.726-04:002013-09-17T20:04:58.726-04:00To be honest, I am not a big fan of oatmeal, howev...To be honest, I am not a big fan of oatmeal, however this recipe looks yummy especially when it is eaten when it's still hot. Hope this helps some of your readers :) Thanks for the great recipe!Charmainehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06686507995508574514noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-444221130150558371.post-14046238239301393752013-09-09T11:56:25.369-04:002013-09-09T11:56:25.369-04:00they have this tiny ones (1,5 quarts or so) for ar...they have this tiny ones (1,5 quarts or so) for around 15 20 dollars, that are meant for dipping sauces etc. For two persons they work wonderfully.BeatrixBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16079129390182325159noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-444221130150558371.post-34729202071930538602013-09-09T10:09:19.335-04:002013-09-09T10:09:19.335-04:00If I had a crock pot this would be ideal. My husband and I got into a routine last winter of cooking 10 servings of old fashioned oats on top of the stove (he did it most often, bless his heart) and then we put the extra 8 servings in the fridge and just microwaved the yummy oats each morning. That's a real time saver and they keep very well for those next four days if you have a nice plastic container with a tight lid. I'm trying to lose weight and fiber is key so my "treat" is Splenda and some fresh fruit in my oatmeal. Thanks so much for sharing - maybe I will put a crock pot on my wish list. It is so great to see that others have the same idea.

For two persons we use 1/3 cup steel cut oats, 1 cup of water, 1 splash of maple syrup and one bag of mixed frozen berries. In the morning we add a little cinnamon, 2 tablespoons of flax seeds and a handful of walnut piece.

It's our go-to breakfast day after day. Since we don't like the oats too soft, we have the timer for a cooking time of about 1.5 hours starting at 3 o'clock. Then they are just right, when we get up. I found it on facebook and just had to try it. It was yummy but that recipe called for 1/4 cup brown sugar. I said if I ever made it again, I was going to increase to 1/2 cup at least. I am having a small get together with 4 other quilters in late october here in my home... might just have to make another batch.Thearicahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00630873857696850018noreply@blogger.com
