Ok, I know that's not one word, but I can't help myself. This machine is wonderful. It's so easy to use, accurate and for me...it helps me create more and more beyond the norm.
space
I have put together so many tutorials for you using the Accuquilt, but it would be too much for this give away post. I will show you a picture of each one here and then do the tutorials on separates posts to follow this.
space
First let me introduce you to my new best friend...
space

She's thin and light weight...unlike me right now!
space

These are the dies I have...the tumbler, the hexagon, the 2 1/2" strip cutter and the squares.
space

The order or placement of everything to cut fabric is...the die (foam up), fabric, then the cutting mat on top. I will show you details of this in the tutorials. Place the die up against roller...

turn handle to move die through machine...

and you're done!!!

The upcoming tutorials are...

Learn how to English Paper Piece hexagons. Click here.

This is the smallest sized hexagon.

A little ornament...not stuffed yet.

Mini pincushion.

Largest hexagon used to make Grandmother's Flower Garden piece great for applique on a pillow.

but a quick way to sew it on the machine if you don't want to paper piece. Click here for machine sewing hexies.

I used the 2 1/2" strip cutter to cut the 3 different colored strips that I sewed together. Then I placed that in the Tumbler die to make the Candy Corn for Halloween. I alternated the striped candy corn with Halloween fabric cut with the tumbler too.

If you are not into English Paper Piecing, but love hexagons and Grandmother's Flower Gardens...how about using my favorite glue and sealer. MOD PODGE here we come!!

I haven't glued either of these designs down on this tray yet. I can't decide. Which one do you like? I also have a Christmas tree cut out, but forgot to take a picture of it.

How about taking 2 of the candy corns and 2 of the Halloween fabric that are cut with the Tumbler die and make the cutest treat bag to hand out to special Trick or Treaters. Click here for Candy Corn bag instructions.

Perfect size for lots of goodies!

Next is a hexie Book Worm Bookmark. I used the medium sized hexagon die for this. Super fast to make...and all on the machine. No hand sewing. Aren't his little eyes the cutest! Click here for tutorial.

and lastly here is a great little set for when you are having friends over for dinner. It's a hexagon place card holder and a matching hexie coaster. Click here for instructions.

You can make these projects, quilts and sooooo much more with the Accuquilt Go fabric cutter.

  1. Option 1 - I think I would go for a die that is a little more difficult to rotary cut such as the apple core. Or I like what I see with the multiple quarter square triangles, complete with trimmed corners!

    ReplyDelete
  2. I love the tubmler die! I saw a quilt made with that shape that was really pretty and funky.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Okay, I need those cute candy corn bags! We have a Halloween birthday around here and those would be perfect for goodie bags!

  11. option 1 - I was going to say the Sun Bonnet Sue, since that's a pain to cut, but then I saw the Rag Quilt dies and that is amazing that it cuts the edges. I'd definitely pick the 8 1/2" rag square

I know my friends of the Quilting bee I host will love it and ofcourse I would share it with them. But I win I would buy the windy way set. I want to make this quilt for some years now, but the cutting.... you know. With the go cutter it would be more precise. (Then I'd probably pick GO! Rose of Sharon, GO! Heart, GO! Funky Flowers, GO! Holiday Medley or even GO! Round Flower . . . luck I only have to pick the one!!).

Really enjoy reading your blog. Hope that you don't cry too much saying goodbye to your girls - just think of all the extra craft time you will have ;)

  150. Love all your hexagon ideas, especially the idea of cutting them in half for machine sewing. That's so smart!

  155. If I had to choose just one, I think I'd choose the Double Wedding Ring -- I'd love to make a bigger version (I once made a small wall hanging) of that pattern.

I love that second tray you did with the hexagons!

  156. Karen, I'm so happy that you have received one of these cool new gadgets! I've been trying to win one, so I'm hoping your giveaway will be my lucky chance!

I'm so practical that the 2 inch strip cutter die is the one I would love to have! I've been cutting so many 2 inch strips lately for the I Spy quilts I've been making out of the swap blocks so I think that one would be a must for me!

Keeping my fingers and toes crossed!

  160. I'm trying to figure out how you'd do a strip that is longer than the die? Like if you want WOF strips?
